Christmas Card bloopers

So, it is the week between Christmas day and New Years day and I am probably eating and sleeping and laying around on the couch with my family.  I really want to post about Christmas Eve and Christmas Day (I am sure) but I am likely too lazy (writing this on 12/23).

So I will post our bloopers from the Christmas card shoot instead.  This whole entire shoot lasted 20 minutes and so I was surprised I got so many silly shots as well as good ones.  I am probably the only one who enjoys these but I am sooo glad I have them from year to year.

Dave was helping Harry with his sleeves and then they started goofing around...

I am seeing a definite theme here as to who was the goof this year!

So yup, this is what I have to endure to get some decent photos of my kids.  And yes, it is worth it.

I hope you all had a fabulous Christmas.  Ours was okay but Kate woke up Christmas morning sick with 104 fever and the flu. We tried to make the best of it though. Dave had a mini flu, Will had the flu, Harry had the flu and missed Christmas Eve Mass and now Katie R has it.  Good times:( I am taking oil of oregano, vitamin d3 and garlic trying my best to escape this nasty flu.  Texas has been hit hard this year. Be back soon.

Christmas Card Bloopers 2010 {Sunday Snapshot}

If you have not read the post below about our car accident, please do.  I feel very convicted to spread the word about the importance and superior safety of the five point harness system for children under the ages of at least 7-10.  Just because a child is legally able to ride in an adult restraint booster DOES NOT mean it is the safest option at all.


And thank you for all of your  prayers and sweet comments.  They mean the world to me.  I am having some post traumatic stress...no doubt.  I keep re-playing the scene in my head and I am jumpy and afraid to drive.  But my sweet Kate is doing well.  She has had two nightmares in a row this weekend but she is not acting afraid of being in the car at all.  And for those who were wondering, we are replacing her car seat with the Britax Froniter.  It is 5 point harness that she can use until she is 85 pounds.



I actually did not think we had many bloopers this year...until I took a good look at the photos.  We actually had tons.  They are not quite as funny as some in past years but they are bloopers nonetheless.

We shot these in the middle of the day on my birthday.  The sun was too direct and there was sunfalre on many of them but with all my kids activities and the busy fall we had...this was kind of my only window of opportunity.

"Yikes, how may of these pictures is she going to take?"



"I am NOT gonna smile."

"I am WAY too cool for this family photo session stuff" (there is the flare)...these are all straight out of my camera.

Not sure what is with Will and Harry's facial expressions in these two!

Now this one is plain ridiculous!  No one is cooperating for me!

We actually had quite a few good ones that we did not use on our card.  I will post a few of those along with our card this week.






P.S. Several people have asked about Kate's dresses.  I posted the brand of the pink one a few days ago. The green one is by Lavender Blue.  I bought it a a local boutique and have not seen it anywhere on-line.  Similarly, I buy the big flower headbands at a little shoppe and they are made locally.  Sorry, I cannot be of more help.  

Not on my "A" game here

I have really been struggling here since we returned from our trip.  I just cannot get caught up on life.  One of the peanuts blatantly told me this weekend that he is not getting enough attention from me.  He is feeling a bit "unloved." That cut me to the core.  The only things I really want to do here on earth are serve God and be a good Mom and wife. It is so hard to get everything done.  Is there such a thing a balance for Moms?  I really feel like there are not enough hours in the day to make everyone happy.  Anyone else feel that way?  Now the holidays are upon us and I am going to try not to let stress get the best of me.  I have a few friends whose motto is "to blessed to be stressed."  I am going to try to remind myself of that.

I have a bunch of things to blog about this week.  I am so behind in recording our  family memories.  I am going to try to get my groove back.  Oh and the new dog still has no name.  We tried out Roscoe and Noble but they have not stuck.

3rd Annual Christmas Card Bloopers

I need to post about the parties this weekend (and I will) but I am completely focused on getting my Christmas cards in the mail today and tomorrow. I always post the bloopers from our shoot. The BIGGEST blooper this year is that I only ordered 175 cards and my printed list is at about 200. I really wanted to cut my list a bit this year because there are people I never (ever) hear from on it. I did cut it but I did not take into account new friends in our new neighborhood and schools. I contacted Tiny Prints to see if I could order more today. They would arrive on the 22nd. What do you think?

Okay, back to the photo bloopers. They are completely unedited (except for a crop on the last one).

I must admit...Kate was the source of all the trouble!

When we arrived at the park, she started hatching her plan...

I will just dance around in circles and ignore whatever Mom tells me to do....

After I am done dancing, I will agree to a couple of shots.

But I am not gonna make it easy on her!

In fact, I am going to laugh really at hard at all her (and Dad's) efforts.

Good thing she is so cute. All is forgiven. And I did get one decent shot.

It is not my best shot but I was just getting over that salmonella.
