These are a few of my favorite things

Friday, November 16, 2012
As all the catalogs start to pour in, I really enjoy seeing what is out in the stores.  I love fashion and I love shopping.  But these days I prefer to do it from my computer.  I loathe going to the stores during the holidays.  I get a bit claustrophobic. So, I thought I'd share some things for the next month that are on my radar.  Some I might be buying as gifts and some I just think are really cute.  This post is all about little girls but don't worry, I will post other ideas as well. (don't worry, I linked everything)

For little girls....

I LOVE these quilted Boots

And these Wellies of course.

How fabulous would they be in Sparkling Silver or Hot Pink on a rainy day?

How cute would this ♥ tee  be for Valentine's Day?  Or anyday.

And all of these dresses are so cute....

This one would be so cute for a Christmas of New Years's party...

And I am LOVING Tartan for both me and for Kate.  Look at these...

They even have a little girl's bubble necklace out now!

And on my goodness...how cute is this tulle backpack for sleepovers???

These cupcake lip glosses would be a perfect stocking stuffer...

and this belt would be good for the stocking too.

And as far as a creative toy, I know one little girl that has this on her Christmas list...

Have a great weekend.  I'll be back soon:)

Friday FInds

Friday, April 16, 2010

I love a bargain and I have found a few this week. So, today's Friday Finds are my frugal finds:) Normally, I do not find clothes for myself at Old Navy but I do like their dresses, skirts and swimsuits for Kate. And I will sometimes buy the boys a few things there. Well, today was my lucky day! I knew they were having a "stuff your bag sale" for 20% off but I did not know that if you were one of the first 50 customers today you got 50% off everything!!!! I was luckily #47!

I got Miss Kate these two dresses...

I also got her THE CUTEST Maxi dress. It is not pictured on-line but it is darling. She wore it tonight to Harry's baseball game. She fell on the bleachers and hit her head pretty hard. There is literally a golf ball sized lump on the back of her head. OUCH!

Plus, I got some pj's for Kate and some shorts, shirts and flip flops for the boys. And I even found a nice pair of white pants for myself. It was such a great deal. Thank you Old Navy for the surprise!

My other frugal finds this week were at Ikea. Again, I am normally not a big Ikea fan but I was looking for some inexpensive white linen sheers for Kate's room. I did not find them there. But I did find these great little juice glasses.

They are perfect for little hands and morning orange juice and they were only $1.99 for six! I LOVE that price point.

I also picked up four of these (at 89 cents each!). They are very, very similar to our Williams Sonoma Picardie tumblers at one-fifth the price. Since we got rid of all our plastic, I have noticed that we go through our glasses much quicker.

Finally, I bought this little lamp for Kate's room. I am not 100% sure I am going to keep it because it takes a special bulb that I might be against. But it is awfully cute for $19.99.

They also had enormous, beautiful orchids that I bought but am too lazy to take a photo. These live orchid plants would easily be $50-$75 dollars at my local florist. Ikea had them for $19.99.

Kate's room is almost done. The paint looks great thanks to my husband. I have ordered white linen sheers from Restoration hardware and I have a few other finishing touches to do. I will hopefully post photos next week. Have a great weekend!

Friday Finds~Bathing Suits

Friday, February 5, 2010

Okay, I have a little obssession with Kate's bathing suits. I have already purchased 6 suits for the 2010 season. I always have been that way though. Remember these?

Summer 2007

I LOVE Kate Mack bathing suits and usually buy Kate one or two a year. Remember this one?

Kate and Ruby~2008

I loved it and apparently everyone else did too because now there are copies everywhere. The original (which Kate wore for 2 years!) was pretty expensive at $58.

But this year several retailers are offering a similar look for less.
Janie and Jack has one for $32 and it is pretty darned cute. The color is a beautiful coral.

Target has a knock off for $9.99! It is cute too.

But I think the best one out there is from Old Navy...

It is only $16.50!

The pink is a little brighter than the original Kate Mack but it is adorable and it complements Kate's skin really well.

In addition to the Kate Mack suits, I usually buy Kate Emerson a few less expensive suits as well. This year I have found two others at Old Navy that I also love. Apparently, Old Navy has these on SALE right now (of course, right after I bought them). Thank you for telling us Denise and Mandi!

$14.50!

How cute is this bikini? Also, only $14.50!

And these darling cover-ups are also only $14.50!

You can find more "Friday Finds" here or add your own!

One of the reasons Kate has so many bathing suits is that we swim almost every day in the summer and we swim a lot longer year round here.

Friday's Finds~My drugstore faves!

Thursday, January 28, 2010

I have ignored the blog this week and I apologize. We have been to the pediatrician twice in the last week. Harry had strep (Again!). Kate had severe eczema causing her to lose most of the pigmentation on her face and she was back again today with a bladder infection! She still has horrible eczema around her eyes and it is super red and irritated.

Also, I have had the honor and privilege of posting for my friend Karen (see below) to her blog while she is in China and anything I would post here seems so insignificant to new families being formed.

However, my bloggy friend, Colleen started Friday's Finds a few weeks ago and I wanted to participate this week. I have decided to post a few of my inexpensive drugstore beauty finds. I love good beauty products but I also love a bargain. The following fit both categories.

300

Nivea Soft. This is THE BEST body moisturizer EVER! Read the reviews here. Seriously, I love this stuff. It is very hydrating but not greasy at all and it has a delightful and extremely light scent. It feels very luxurious but only costs $6.79!

I get forehead shine. I hate it but it is who I am (unless I am juicing regularly-but more on that in my next post). Living in an extremely humid city only makes the forehead shine worse. I have tried every single product out there and this is the best and the cheapest. It is Boot's Instant Matte and it is only $5.99 people!!!! I LOVE it. You can get it at Target.

To me, mascara is the most important cosmetic I purchase. I have tried the expensive brands such as Chanel and Lancome and the new very popular Yves St. Lauent, Singulier. It is supposedly all the rage. But none of them can hold a candle to this mascara. Really! In fact, I returned the $30 Singulier because it was horrible compared to my beloved $7.99 L'Oreal Telescopic Mascara in blackest black. I have been using this since it first came out and really, it ROCKS!

So, there you have it...beauty does not need to cost a fortune.

I already have a few great finds for next week too:)

My sweet and adorable Harry is representing his class in the school Spelling Bee this morning. I am so proud of him. Keep your fingers crossed and say some prayers for him. I will let you know how he does!
