mini me

For today's post, let's just pretend/imagine that my legs are as long and lean as cutie pie Kate's gams.  Okay, imagine that now....  Are you imagining?  If yes, you may proceed....

still imagining....

And yes, once in a while, I shop for myself at Gapkids.

You might think it is silly that we dressed alike.  I don't.  We had fun and I know that I need to really appreciate these years when Kate adores her Mama.  You might not know this but I have a teenager that thinks I am such a dork!  Really,  he can barely stand me sometimes.  So I gotta embrace this while I can people!!

As an aside....Most things work just fine for me in their kid's section but I kind of have a big bust
(32D-- but let's keep that our little secret;)
I hide it pretty well most of the time but it is hard when I wear kid's clothes.  This shirt isn't tight but you can tell I have a chest and I usually like to hide mine.

So, if you're petite, give the kid's section a try.  You cannot beat the savings! I have also shopped the kids section at J.Crew, Old Navy and Target!

I also got this darling skirt last week at Gapkids too.

How cute is that?!
Seriously, you cannot beat the price especially with the constant sales.

P.S.  We just got these shirts last week but it looks like they are sold out already.

  1. TRUST ME! I get a ton in kids sections. I have gotten a lot at GapKids, Lilly dreses (they are bringing back the 14s and 16s)...
    My Uggs are kids sizes.
If you can find any kids Maxi dresses, please let me know where!
They are hard to find and it's been a pain to find one that I don't have to hem.
    You girls look great!

  3. I think you and Kate are ADORABLE together! Sorry I do not comment much... work has blogger blocked and I rarely read blogs where I have access to a different computer.

LOVED all the pics of Kate and Libbie... adorableness embodied!!!

My older daughter, Morgan (20), has bought things from Gap Kids too... she laughs but loves some of their clothes! I think it must be the hip thing to do!! LOL!

Happy 4th with you and your family!!

    Seriously.
P.S. I do not and will never fit into kids clothes. But boy I would if I could.
P.P.S. Why you wanna hide that big bust? Girrrllll... you know ladies pay money for a bust like that ;)

    1. Stef...you made me laugh so hard! It's like I could hear your voice. And I needed a laugh. I guess we always want what we don't have right? I would love to be a 32B!!!! I am just totally out of proportion with this chest.

    1. These pant are from last year. The tag says Old Navy Midrise. I really like them because they have a little flare to the leg which is more flattering to me. And they are not super duper fitted. I am self conscious in my white jeans.

  12. You two look adorable together. I think it is cute to dress alike. I always try to dress alike or coordinate with my girls at Christmas and my whole extended family laughs and says its so cheesy. I still do it because as you said our time is so short that they will allow it. I have two teenagers and they think I am a total dork. Ha! I also am petite and have purchased for myself in the childrens section. Sometimes the clothing is just so much cuter. (And I too have a bigger chest than seems appropiate for my height. I have sadly spent most of my life trying to hide it too.)
I love your blog and look forward to your posts.
You have great style and I enjoy following along.

  14. I LOVE those shirts. Wish I could fit into the Gap Kids clothes.

And I just had to say, white linen pants are my staple in summer. I always feel like I should be in the Hamptons. (Wishful thinking.)

  17. Oh, enjoy this time! So very cute!

I must say, this fall, I really wanted one of those knit ponchos that were so popular, but I'm 5'2" and all the women's sizes made me look wrapped in a blanket! I tried one on in the Target girls' section, and liked it, but felt silly. But you look awesome! Next time, I'll remember this and give it a go!

    Thanks for sharing!

  29. Totally cute! I love it!

I used to shop in the kids section....when I actually shopped for myself! Actually, I still do. I love that the prices are better because I'm a frugal gal, especially when it comes to buying things for myself. I don't have to worry about tops fitting...ever...lol. Now my tush, that's a different story. And seriously, there's a problem when kids jeans and pants are TOO LONG on me. Grrr.....

  30. YOu guys are so cute! Love those outfits. I dress similar to Coco a lot. Looks better in pictures and I agree, when they're older they wouldn't be caught DEAD! I am living it up while I can!!! LOL
