The Life of Will

Wednesday, October 5, 2011
Life has been a bit stressful for me lately.  I haven't visited blogs.  I have not felt like blogging.  Too much else to take care of/worry about.  But Will.... Will has had it good.  He had the opportunity to spend a week in Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons (Jackson Hole, WY).  They are also visting Idaho Falls, Salt Lake City and Montana.  They are fortunate enough to be staying at Old Faithful Inn and the Mammoth Inn while in Yellowstone,  He is there on a school geography/geology trip.  He went fly fishing and has seen all sorts of beautiful things that he does not get to see here (being a city boy and all).

Remember when he was in Paris for Spring Break (another school trip) and never called me?  Well, he is not calling me this time around either and he has his cell (albeit somewhat spotty serivce).   I told him no more trips unless he calls home more;) He has however texted me some photos from his I-phone....

And just like Paris, Dave and I did a trip to Jackson Hole, Yellowstone and Glacier National Park in Montana before we had kids. It is fun to see Will explore some of the places we have been. Maybe I need to dig some of those old pictures out for a flashback.  I do remember catching A LOT of fish in Lake Jackson!

I am hoping to catch him in front of Old faithful soon.

  9. It was great to talk to you.

Looks like Will is having fun. He's in my favorite part of the country. He's lucky that he's just got on a hoodie! They often already have snow at this time of year.

  13. What a wonderful school trip!

My parents took my brother and I on a similar trip when we were 12 and 7, respectively, and I still remember it to this day. My husband has never been to any of those places, and I dream of taking him and our children there one day. Our own country has such geographical and historical diversity, sometimes I think we spend too much time dreaming of visiting other countries when we've only seen a slice of what our own land has to offer.

Mr. Smith and I decided that if we won the lottery, we would take an extended road trip across the good old US of A!

    Thank you for sharing!

  19. Loved seeing Will's pictures from Wyoming! How great that he got to go up to Mammoth; most visitors to Yellowstone don't get that far into the park, but it's one of my favorite areas. I've never been to Jackson Hole in the fall; the colors are gorgeous!

Hope you're doing well. Miss talking to you.
