My little office

Thursday, September 23, 2010
A few weeks ago, I showed you some fabric for the draperies for my front office. They have been hanging for a few weeks but I realized I never posted photos.  I am not completely finished with this room.  Don't tell my husband but I would like a new lamp and a small sunburst mirror (for above the egg pictures) above my desk. All in due time...  So here is what the room looked like when we moved in....

And here is what it looks like now....

And this little desk is where I blog:)

We had a great time at Roundtop yesterday.  I took some photos that I will post here next and my friend and I found some neat things.  Of course, I am really regretting one thing I did not buy.

And...NO it is not always this neat:)

P.S.  The paint is Pratt and Lambert Antique White but it is not their current formula of Antique White. A few years ago they changed their formulas but they will still mix this old formula for me.  It looks yellow in these photos but it is not.  It is a cream/off white.

I bought the fabric locally but I found an on-line source here.

  1. Hope this is not a repeat - got an error last time I tried to submit.

Kim - the drapes and your office are gorgeous! Looks like a magazine! Wish you could come help me decorate my house! Thanks for sharing, Wendy

  2. If you hadn't posted those garage pictures I wouldn't believe you when you said it doesn't look like this all the time :) I am sure it does about 99% of the time :) Beautiful!

Have you been to Canton? I've never been to Roundtop, but I'm sure it's fabulous! If you've never been to Canton you should take a friend for the weekend-it's my favorite place in the WORLD! Just go ahead and rent a Uhaul if you go. Let me know and I'll meet you there :) We plan entire trips home around 1st Monday :)

  13. Thank you for all the sweet comments.

Jennifer...I do keep the inside of the house rather neat and tidy. The garage is my husband's domain which is why is has/had gotten that way:)

Glinda...Those chairs were actually a package deal when I married my husband. He already had them. I would like to re-upholster them someday when it is in the budget. The lines and nailhead details though are lovely though. And while I don't love the fabric, it is quite neutral and has worked in many homes and rooms over the years.

  22. Hi,
Would you mind sharing where you ordered your window fabric from? They are beautiful!

PS I am envious that you can have such light colored furniture in your home and it still looks nice. I kid you not when I tell you my oldest carved his name with his fingernail into our new leather sofa when he was young! We stopped decorating for a while :) 3 more children and an aging jack russell later, we have just started decorating again. I am keeping my fingers crossed that I can keep it 1/2 as well maintained as you keep your home. It's truly lovely!
