I hope you all have been enjoying the week of Christmas! I have been very unproductive these past few days. We have been hanging out in front of the tree, eating, watching movies, etc... I guess I did clean out the playroom and Harry's room to make room for the new Christmas loot. But other than that, I have done a whole lot of nothing.
We are waiting for our gas fireplace logs to be delivered and installed (our anniversary present to one another) but they missed our appt. due to our road construction again! We have big plans for roasting marshmallows and hanging out in front of the fire this week. I have never really been a big fan of gas logs but it is not cold long enough nor frequently enough here to warrant building wood fires and cleaning them up, so we are going the gas route. This way, I can push a button on the remote and have a fire. If we get too hot, I will just push the button and turn it off. I hope we don't regret it. We have always had wood burning fireplaces.
I did promise that I would post some of our decorations so I put them in a slideshow. Here are some of our Christmas decorations.
I will do a Christmas Day post next (very soon) and then I am done with Christmas until next year!
Oh Kim, where did you get your eye for decorating and how do you keep your house so spotless. I admire you and love your taste and thank you so much for sharing your life with us.
ReplyDeleteKim, beautiful slide show! You've got the touch. Looks like a festive and very fun Christmas at your house. It seemed to come and go quick this year, I'm wrapping up Christmas memories as well while enjoying the time off with the family. Thanks for sharing, you have exquisite tast. What a beautiful slide show of your family and home. I too have been very laid back this week enjoying the family. I feel a bit guilty for not doing anything productive. I guess once everyone gets back to school/work I can start organizing for the new year.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, beautiful, beautiful! You have my dream kitchen! I loved everything!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to you all!
ReplyDeleteLove, me and Jane! Kim, I think your address I have for you is your old one. jane and I would love to send you a card!

Everything is beautiful, Kim. I love how you have so many lights on your tree. It just glows so beautifully, even in photographs. I took our decorations down today and it's always so depressing for me. My house now looks naked. LOL.

ReplyDeleteSeems like we have the same schedule this week - a whole lot of nothing! One thing is different, it's freezing and I have had the real fireplace going all day. I love to have the fire going and I think you will love your gas alternative.
Happy New Year!
Beautiful slide show. We for the first time in the 7 homes we've owned, will have gas logs too. I love the ambience of a woodburning fireplace. However, on a postivie note -- no cleanup!
ReplyDeleteThe decorations look beautiful. We do the wreaths on each window each year too. I love that look. The candles on the porch steps were beautiful so simple but beautiful.

ReplyDeleteSimply exquisite. My favorite part is your husband literally going out on a limb to decorate.
ReplyDeleteI love our gas logs. Being able to flip that switch off and on is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteMt parents have that same nativity...I used to play with it all the time. My nephew lost Mary last year and we had to find a new one! Your house is beautiful!
