I know that I said my next post would be about Kate but I have not gotten that one together yet.
I want to share a GREAT post with you that Joni from Cote De Texas wrote today. She lives near me and is an amazing designer and although I have not met her, I hope to some day. I might even try to hire her for a consultation some time. I sure need it in this house.
Click here to go see the most amazingly beautiful kitchens you have ever seen. Joni offers great suggestions in relation to each one. Pour a cup of tea and give yourself plenty of time to drool over this post. It is that good.
Also, someone asked when I was going to list the design blogs that I love. I have listed them on my sidebar at the bottom. I will warn you, they are a bit addictive. I am sure there are many out there I am missing but this is a start. Now, the next post will definitely be about Kate.
OMG, I have died and gone to kitchen heaven....
ReplyDeleteThey are BEAUTIFUL!!
Lisa

ReplyDeleteCote De Texas is not on my blogroll but this site has been marked as one of my favorite's for a while. I love that first kitchen and the marble kitchen (house for sale from Illinois). It's very easy to get lost in her sight...dreaming away.
ReplyDeleteThere are definitely some beautiful kitchens on that post! Your old one would certainly qualify for inclusion!
ReplyDeleteHee hee! I knew that post had your name written ALL over it. :)
ReplyDeleteReally and truly your kitchen in Virginia and your kitchen in Houston are as pretty as any of the ones Joni features.
Eloise,
ReplyDeleteYou are SO sweet! Thank you. I do love that post. I have read it 3 times. i secretly (not so much) want to be a designer:)
Gotta agree with Lisa, kitchen heaven! I think I was actually drooling, LOL.
ReplyDeleteWish I hadn't clicked "here"! That first kitchen would be my dream kitchen! Oh I just love to look at beautiful houses!!!
ReplyDeleteI love that post...I love how she breaks it down with the "how to get this look" tips. I know I will be reading it several more times. My kitchen is screaming for a can of paint!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
I was drooling over this post of hers earlier. I pop in on her blog from time to time and she has never disappointed...this last post fuels the flame in me that wants to paint my kitchen cabinets...in our rental!

Wow, those are some lovely kitchens at that site. Hope all is well my friend.
ReplyDeleteYEAH for this post!!! We will be gutting our kitchen soon...this is perfect timing!!!!! Thank you, thank you!!!!
ReplyDeleteJoni is just the coolest! Did you see Cote de Texas was named a Top Ten Blog in the Washington Post? She has so many followers, but she takes time to comment in such a personal way.
ReplyDeleteThe next time I'm in Houston the three of us should plan to get together. She was *upset* that we didn't include her last time!
I took a peak and loved what I saw, will have to come back later when I have more time...

ReplyDeleteJoni is a design blog goddess!
ReplyDeleteHer posts are the most informative, thoughtful and thorough I have ever found.
Thank you for including my little design blog on your list!

she is getting so big and adorable. it's neat to look back on her photos. kids are an amazing blessing from our great great God. I missed you last night at Beth Moore. it was amazing. I took a note sheet for you. If you go next week, I'll give it to you. if not, I think you can get it from her website. Leaving for Disney in the morning. have a blessed week.
ReplyDeleteHi! New here...Thanks for the tip on the kitchen post! I was just commenting to my husband that I want to update our kitchen. Our cabinets are that "honey" color from the 90's she spoke about in the post...ugh. I'm having fun looking through the Design Blogs you posted...I think I'll get some good ideas.
ReplyDeleteGreat Blog and your children are beautiful.
Best!
Jessica
Thank you for the link. Your timing is perfect for me since I am DEEP into the kitchen planning for our house restoration. Which gets to my problem. There are so many choices I simply feel overwhelmed! I love how she points out the key areas to achieve the look of the designs featured.
ReplyDeleteNow, I ask your opinion. Our kitchen will have dark Walnut floors in keeping with the rest of the house. I am thinking of having the base cabinets done in a cinnamon finish and the wall cabinets in a soft cream color with a subtle glaze to bring out the minimal detail of the woodwork. The center island would be the same cream as the wall cabinets. What do you think of the two different cabinet finishes?
Thanks again for sharing your tips. It is so helpful to beginners like me!
