We are safe but maybe not sound

Tuesday, September 2, 2008
We are safe from the storm so far.  Still struggling with the newcity. The boys hid this morning when it was time to go to school (and it broke my heart) but we are putting on our best attitudes and marching forward.  Kate and I need to find some activities/friends to keep us busy during the day.

Go over to the Matilda Jane blog today to see Kate in a most "ladylike" pose:)  We were at the zoo and it was hot so she kept lifting her shirt! It is a funny shot. Here are some other shots from the zoo....

Will looking pensively at what used to be his favorite animal (when he as a toddler) the Okapi.  He was obsessed with Okapis for a few years (pre-hedgehog obsession). In fact, at our local zoo then, he could touch and pet the Okapi.  Everytime we visited, the Okapi used to go right up to Will for a petting.  It was as if it recognized him.

On the train....It is a little out of focus.  I only brought my 50mm and I struggle getting a few subjects in focus with the  shallow depth of field.

Again, thank you for all the good wishes and prayers.  We have needed them and I am grateful for each and every one.  Our prayers go out to those who have suffered loss from Gustav.

  11. Looks like you guys had a nice outing. Everything will work out the way it's meant to..just try to stay strong. Boys will be okay..just take time to adjust and for things to settle down. I hope you are able to get someplace you fall in love with as much as the other home and the boys will have a school they will love!

Oh how sad I am that the boys hid before school - tragic, Kim, truly. I am praying this week brings happy surprises and comfort and calm.

Kate's skirt is darling!! I love it - is that a summer skirt - absolutely never saw it! I tried to order some of those leftovers during the sale and never got through, bummmer:)

    Thinking of you...

  15. Kim,

It breaks my heart the boys are having such a hard time. I will really be praying for them. I am glad you and your family are safe. I am also praying about the house. You never know, sometimes deals on houses fall through. Only time will tell what door the Lord will open around the corner. :)

  16. So glad that you are safe and sound! I saw the pic of Kate on MJ's site and left Denise a comment. Kate is such a cutie pie.

I just received a mammoth order from MJ and cannot wait to put it on Paige! She, however, would prefer dance shorts and a tee anyday...oh well : )

  22. Hopefully one day in the not too distant future you will look back at this time as one where your family really pulled together and depended on one another for strength and support. I know that doesn't make the "here and now" any easier, though, so I continue to pray that some rays of hope and sunshine descend upon you SOON.

Please continue to keep us posted. Lots of people out here care about you and your family.
