Every year my family dreads it but every year I make them do it. I usually bribe them into two photo shoots. Dave is my most excellent assistant. He carries shoes and children and lenses. He makes silly faces and potty humor behind my back to try to get them to laugh. I like to shoot at dusk but due to rain and dinners out...we decided to try an early morning shoot. I am not thrilled with them but I know I am super picky about my photos (and everything else these days). I am still going to make them do this again tomorrow at sunset:)
Harry looks so tired to me.
He takes my breath away sometimes. Such a cutie!
The sun came up way too quickly and the sun was WAY too bright. I do better at sunset.
Running from the waves...
I bought this dress last Spring and Kate never wore it until this morning. I saved it all summer long for these photos (silly me). I LOVE it and I need to have her wear it some more before summer is over.
Love her dainty little hand in this one:)
This Thankful Thursday, I am thankful for my wonderful family. Everyone is going through their own little issues right now (growing pains that I'll blog about later) but we are working together as a family. I am thankful for my patient and helpful husband and my three salty peanuts! I am also thankful for all of your kind wishes and prayers.
Kate's dress is made by Baby Velani and I purchased it at Animal Crackers Boutique in Richmond, Virginia (someone asked).
Beautiful Pictures! The picture of Kate running from the waves is precious!
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful - especially love the candid ones. We can barely get our 2 girls to cooperate for photo shoots - how do you do it with 3 kids? Kate looks very pretty in that cute dress. Enjoy your vacation! Wendy

These pictures are just beautiful! I love Kate's dress too. That dress alone is reason enough to try to get to the beach a few more times before she outgrows it! It looks like you are having a wonderful vacation.

ReplyDeleteI love these pictures! You are an amazing photographer...but then again, your 'subjects' are pretty spectacular. We're off to the beach soon and I hope I can get photos half as good as these! My favorite is the picture from the back as the three children are walking toward the waves. The color is amazing. Thanks for sharing and try to enjoy the rest of your vacation, I'm sure your impending move is continually in the back of your minds, try to put it aside and just enjoy being with your lovely family:)

ReplyDeleteYour photos are beautiful! I am sure you had exactly the picture you wanted in your mind already. One of these might have to take it's place. The children are natural and the light spectacular!
ReplyDeleteAs a Maryland girl, I am partial to Kate's crab dress! It looks great!
Enjoy the rest of the week!
So beautiful! We have a boutique here (KY) called Animal Crackers and it is my favorite. I wonder if they are connected because that is the same type of clothes they sell..
ReplyDeleteI love the dress and the pictures turned out great! I see you are in the clickinmoms group. Me too, I haven't been able to play with it much yet but hope to find the time to learn a few pointers!!

Precious children and pictures! I wish you'd turn the tables and get one of your children to take a couple of shots of you and your husband at the beach!
ReplyDeleteKim, I'm glad you are enjoying time as a family and with family. I'm sure it's hard to relax with your upcoming move.
ReplyDeleteI especially love the 7th photo down with all 3 peanuts. The lighting and colors are perfect! All the photos are great! I like the one with Kate's dainty hand too and also the one in her tutu suit walking with some 'tude. lol
ENJOY!!
I love them all Kim. You are so talented with the camera. More importantly, they tell a story...right now is a transition. For Dave, for you, for the peanuts and whn you look back, you'll be so thankful that they are just as you all are right this moment.
ReplyDeleteI love the dress!!! Both of our girls have the rebecca raggs crabby capri set - they just wore them to the aquarium (I will post) but that dress is darling - it does help that such a cutie pie is wearing it;)
Thinking of you dear friend
Love,
Heather

ReplyDeleteIf this is not your best photography...I can't wait to see the rest!! I think you got some great shots! I can't beleive you are disappointed in these!! I think (and hope) that when you have a chance to sit back, relax and really take some time...you will see how fabulous these are.

What beautiful pictures. I thoroughly enjoy your blogspot. It is one of my dear friends favorites. She is in the process of adapting her little girl from Korea (Ourlifesfulfillment.blogspot) and has a link to yours. I am a huge scrapbooker and would love to know what camera you use...your pictures are fantastic. May God Bless you and your family in your move to your new home.
ReplyDeleteKim,
ReplyDeleteI think these are amazing pictures but as their mother I know you see them one way and want to capture that essence that sometimes can't be captured...Okay, not sure that sentence made sense (haven't had coffee yet).
They are lovely images from a lovely time together...
I am thankful God has blessed you with each peanut!
Love,
Lisa

Kim,
ReplyDeleteI have read your blog for some time and really enjoy it. I am so glad you are back blogging. I have four children of my own, all under seven, so I don't have a chance to comment much. When I saw this post I had to laugh because I do the same thing to my kids every summer at the beach. We call it our annual photo shoot. This year my boys wore similiar shirts as your boys and my daughter had a special dress I had been saving as well! When they see me coming with all my gear, they roll their eyes. I was pleased with my pictures this year and I am even considering useing them for my christmas cards!
I also wanted to let you know that I have learned so much from your blog. Especially regarding supplements which I plan to try with my family.
Thanks for sharing your beautiful family and best of luck with your upcoming move!
Jennifer
Love the pictures - and Kates'dress is adorable! As are your handsome boys! Hope you had a great vacation!
ReplyDeleteI think you got some good ones....all the kids are so precious....can't wait to see more! ;)
ReplyDeleteHi Kim!
ReplyDeleteI checked your blog last week, but for some reason most of the photos didn't come through. They are AMAZING!!! I love Kate's dress! The picture of her looking up and you are little bit below her is sooo good. I love the way the sky looks in it! They are are great, I hope your travels home were good! XO, Clare
Simply Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteYou did a terrific job motivating the kids! Everyone looks so happy- and CLEAN! Don't know how you do it! I can so relate to the dreaded beach photo shoot!
But it is so worth it, isn't it? Love all the pictures and the colors of the kids clothes against the morning sun. Just beautiful. Hope that all is going well with your move! Let me know how you are doing!
Blessings!
These photos are absolutely beautiful! WOW! You have the most perfect Christmas card! Kate's dress is adorable. We were in Bermuda a couple of weeks ago and I had hoped for the prefect Christmas card picture of Whitney (she is from Chongqing) but no luck.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing.
