New Friend

I made a new friend a few weeks ago. We have so much in common and we clicked immediately. I first saw her at Little Gym with the Mac Daddy of Nikons around her neck and I was immediately drawn to her. We found out that we have lived in the same places, our kids go to the same school, we love to shop at the same stores and on and on. My new friend loves photography and she is really talented. I could learn a lot from her. So, the other day we took our little girls (who are the same age--within weeks) for a photo shoot. Here are some of the shots. The first two (which are also the BEST two) were taken by my new friend. The rest were taken by me. I have not asked her if I can post the ones of her daughter yet...so these are just Kate.

In this last one Kate is running to her sippy cup of water on the path!

I really love these photos.

I need to learn how to do cool things to them in Photoshop. (The dress is from GAP.)

    What beautiful photographs. Kate is precious and looks wonderful in that dress.

    It's great to have friends who are photographers. I'm just about to start another photography course, but having a friend to shoot with is very helpful. Have fun!

    Beautiful pictures... and yours are just as good as your friends- really! Love the little dress. I was looking at your blog with EllaKate looking over my shoulder and she said,
    EK: Is that me?
    ME: No, that is Kate.
    EK: Is she my friend?
    ME: Yes, she's your friend, Kate.
    EK: She is so cute.
    Love it!!!

    Are you a fellow Nikon shooter too? I puffy hear my D200 and just finished my photoshop class. The hobby is addiciting.

    Love it and love the dress! Love that you shared where it ws from! Kate is a model - then we go out and buy the clothes!
    I love Kate's hair! It makes me think about cutting my daughter's hair like that - but I fear it won't look as precious since it's not as straight!

    I'm so happy for you - it's such a fun blessing to make a new friend...sounds like you girls (and your girls)will have a lot of fun together.

    I LOVE the pictures! I especially love the one with Kate holding her sippy cup (and I did notice the sippy in the distance on the sidewalk). Too cute!

    How nice that you met someone with so much in common with you! I love all of the pictures but my favorite is the one of Kate holding the sippy cup.

    Olivia's hair is growing and she's able to wear a bow on the side, finally. If we thought they looked alike before...wait until you see the new pictures! (whenever I get time to post them!)

    Beautiful pictures and love the dress...new friends are such a blessing. Although this adoption journey has been extremely long...the friends we have made along the way may not have come into our life if the wait had been shorter...a true blessing in disguise.

    Oh, My gosh! I love them.... Kate is so beautiful! I need to master my camera like you have. I need to learn to use photoshop better for editing. Your shots are sooooooooo vivid!
    I have to say that the second pic in black in white is absolutely breathtaking of Kate... it is timeless and needs to be framed, on cards, shared with the world. lol
    I am so happy for you and your new friend.... I want to live closer to you and have photoshoots and chatting sessions....

    My favorite one is where she is walking forward and kind of looking over her shoulder. Her arms are coming up and she has the cutest look on her face.

    Adorable as always! I saw your post about not being able to sell Kate's clothes yet...I totally understand. I just sold some of Carter's this year, but it took me a while to be able to do it. I have yet to sell the baby things, and not sure when I will. It's a hard thing to do, so you're right to not push it if you're not ready.
    A friend made Carter a special quilt from some of his baby clothes that had special meaning (first church outfit etc.), so you will find the right thing to do with them when it's time.

    My son had seizures when he was young also and went through all the testing also the wait for the results is the worst, we are praying for kate, my girlfriends 10 month old just had a seizure last week we both care feel for you as it is a very scary thing and both myself and friend are nurses.
    will continue to pray for kate!
