Ruby, Fifi and Lulu (don't know what happened to her pants:)

I love Kate's little hand reaching in there. She does not like her girls to wear their headbands but she does comb their hair a lot.

Kate does not really like stuffed animals at all. In fact, she throws them. She also does not really play with toys much. However, all of a sudden, she is liking these three gals. She has even named them. The little one is Fifi. She started calling her "frou frou" and I laughed so hard but her name has evolved into Fifi now. The other two are Lulu and Ruby but as you can see...I am not sure which one is which. I honestly have NO clue where she got these names but I do think they are rather chic choices! (Maybe Ruby is from here or here). All I can say is that I love Kate's new friends because they keep her busy for a little while. And by little while, I mean five minutes at a time. She rocks them and feeds them and puts them in time out. Poor Fifi spent all of Sunday in time out! I am not sure what she did but it must have been awful. Yesterday, Kate put them in her crib for nap and was in such a rush to sleep with them that she opted to skip her nap time books with Mama. Then she went right to sleep! Well I thought she was sleeping.... but I later learned that she was just playing very quietly and taking Lulu's clothes off. Ahhh..... Fifi, Lulu and Ruby, I love you!

I think Ruby needs a snack!

Thank you for all of your encouraging and kind comments to my last post. I wanted to let you all know that I do know what is important and how quickly this wonderful phase of little blessings passes. That is why my house is a mess. I try to spend the time with my kiddos. I let the laundry pile up so we can read together or go to the park or blow bubbles or just hang out. Sometimes though, I get overwhelmed by the chaos and the work of it all. Even if I know in my heart what is important, having a mess or feeling disorganized and not getting much accomplished is unsettling for me. It is something I struggle with and it is comforting to know that I am not alone. I think we all have days when we wonder if we are doing this Mommy thing well enough!

  1. I just love Kate's new girlfriends! They are adorable, but apparently quite naughty! hehe She acts so much older than she is - caring for them and even naming them...I'm impressed!

Hope your week is off to a fabulous start!

  5. FiFi is a perfect name! We have all 3 of those.:) I loved shopping for them while waiting for Caitlyn. It helped me to know she was coming home.
Caitlyn doesn't care a bit for stuffed animals either.
I wish Chloe didn't care SO much! The good thing is though she doesn't care if its a designer puppy or a 2 dollar Target puppy. She just loves them.

  6. This is so cute! Sarah has been playing with her dolls lately, too. It's so fun to have dolls around after boys!

  7. Did you know that in France, the nickname for someone named Josephine is FiFi? Perhaps this is Kate's subconscious effort to spend more time with her friend Josie... just a thought :-)

  8. Kim,

Kate is just super sweet and is just so clever. It is so obvious how much joy she brings to your life.

One of the reasons I find myself coming back to your blog most everyday is that I think you are so sweet and honest. I admire your organization ... and I admire that you admit that when things are in disarray it bothers you. Your truth won't allow you to be anything but yourself ... someday your house will return to it's perfect state ... or maybe you will find that lack of organization will bother you less. From the little I have learned about you from this small glimpse into your world - either way - I think you will find a way to honor your truth - how simply wonderful.

Thank you for inspiring me in so many ways.

    Warmly,
    Michelle

  9. Too cute!! Mia is just now starting to discover dolls. She has this one that she likes to put to bed in the babies little crib-- too cute!!

I will tell you what I am impressed with is your high chair. We have the same one (in the oatmeal color) and mine is a disgusting mess. There is food stuck all over the place and while I attempt to keep it clean, there is just no escaping the stuck on mess. Any tips for getting it clean?

Anyway, love the pics-- too cute!!

    Christy :)

  11. Love the baby dolls and the names that Kate has come up with.
I can relate to the last post as well. I only have two kids and my days can get overwhelming. But in the end I would never change it for the world. My kids have made me a far better person. :) Happy Tuesday.

  15. Kim,
I've never posted a comment before, but I just had to after reading this post and the one prior. I just had my 3rd baby in February and I too, am an extremely organized person. However, since #3 came along, things have changed! I even took a picture of my house and sent it to my neatnick friend because I couldn't believe the state of things....You are not alone! We will have the peace of an organized home again someday.

In the meantime, you're making wonderful memories and your priorities are in the right place. After all, with a close up shot with the camera, who sees the mess in the background? :)

Thanks for your beautiful blog, and letting us in to read it.

  16. This is such a cute post! Sooo sweet!
It's funny, our Faith does not like to play with dolls at all. I tried so hard and bought her so many dolls, she just is not interested at all. (she is now 4) She however loooves stuffed animals. She dresses them up and treats them just like dolls. She also loves the pet shop animals. I thought maybe this was due to having 2 older brothers, but after reading your post maybe not? :)

  24. Kim,

How cute! Jane also loves to be a mama to her dolls. She is an incredible miniature nurturer :)! It looks like Kate has her hands quite full there!

I understand the chaos. Boy have I been in it over at my place. Can't seem to get caught up and know Jane will grow up too quickly! I still have your envelope ready to mail. Tomorrow I am sending it!

  29. Love the pictures with Kate and her dolls. We have Lulu as well and Lucy refuses to let me put her headband on - funny. Put she insists on sleeping with her every night and she has to be on her right side.
