Christmas Past ~1999

Friday, December 7, 2007
I must preface this one by saying that this was absolutely one of my favorite Christmases ever. Hence, there are a lot of pictures in this post. I remember it so fondly. Will was 2 and 1/2 which is the PERFECT Christmas age. He was not scared of Santa. He knew about baby Jesus (although he went to a Jewish pre-school and the next Christmas decided he believed in the star instead of the cross for a brief period of time). However, the best part was that my Mom and my step father and my sister and her husband all flew to Houston to spend Christmas with us. This was the first and only time that has happened. We all had so much fun! My step father was healthy and I don't think anyone hurt anyone's feelings. In my memory it was simply perfect. I don't even remember feeling stressed that year!

Kate's Godfather and Staci's husband, Long took this photo.

Will liked Santa this year. Although it looks like he is pinching him in this photo.

We always took a picture in front of the tree at the Houston Galleria and then we would have lunch. It became our little tradition. We always went a few days before (or the day before) Thanksgiving. Will and I would get there early to be one of the first in line and Dave always met us there.

This year we also started another tradtion. Each year we let the kids get and decorate their own small tree. That way they leave the big tree alone;)

Our house that year. We hosted a big Christmas party for the Moms group that I helped start at church. I cannot find the photos of the party but it was so much fun!

Mimi read Will "Twas the night before Christmas." This is another of our traditions.

This Christmas Will was all about the trains.

Daddy built you a train table and Santa brought a lot of Thomas stuff.

This project is taking a lot more time than I envisioned. It is forcing me to reorganize my photos. I hope I can actually make it through the next 7 years (actually 6 years because 2006 is at the very beginning of this blog already!)

Year 2000 is next and we had a brand new baby---Harry!
