I have been wanting to give the blog a little bit of an individualized look for a while but wasn't quite sure how to do it myself. After a lot of checking around and playing with it, a few incredibly kind bloggy friends offered to help me. Danielle offered help and incredible support along the way. Emily gave me some useful tips. But in the end, a special friend designed this for me. She wishes to remain anonymous but I am so grateful that people I have only "met" in blogland would be so generous with both their time and their talent. I hope you all like it. I LOVE it! Thank you again;)
....
P.S. I feel as though I should take this opportunity to explain the "3 peanuts" title of my blog. When I was pregnant with Will, beanie babies were very popular. Someone gave me the elephant beanie baby called "peanut" as a gift for Will. He loved that little elephant and carried it everywhere. My nickname for Will quickly became "peanut." Ironically, when Will was about one, I gave him the littlest taste of peanut butter on my finger and he got terrible hives. We've since discovered that he is very allergic to peanuts (and lots of other things). However, I still use that nickname for all the little ones in our home. The botanicals in the header above are peanut plants and Heather located the image for me.
Very nice and I like the story as well!
ReplyDeleteI like the new look :D
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful story behind the name of your blog!
Poor Will, LiLi is allergic to peanuts too:(
I have such a secret for you!
Kim - it looks beautiful - I could use some help myself - I am clueless about this whole blogging thing! Loved the swim meet pictures...brotherly love is my favorite - what cutie patooties indeed!
ReplyDeleteKim,
ReplyDeleteThanks for acknowledging me (even though in the end I didn't actually help). I'm glad you appreciate the effort. I LOVE the new look! Do you think you can ask her what program she uses? Maybe I'll get lucky and it won't be photoshop. Not paying $600 to edit my blog.
My sister Jessica is very allergic to peanuts. We joke that peanuts are her kryptonite. I'm sure Will would appreciate that. The girl loves sushi and has had more than one trip to the ER because of peanut oil in her food. She goes in to shock...it's really scary.
All I can think about is that mark on my screen. I just want to have it fixed or replaced (and fast). Little things like that really bother me.
I really do love the new look! If you ever need to change the border color you know who to ask :)
Glad dinner turned out well. If you have any great cookbooks you recommend let me know.
Danielle

It looks darling!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great! And your story is sweet... that would be a good meme... what are your children's nicknames and why.... I think we should start that one.
ReplyDeleteI love the trees - so pretty. The boys swim meet was so cute - aren't boys wonderful?
ReplyDeleteYour blog looks great!! I can't wait to do my someday, I will have to find help too!! The boys look so cute at the swim meet.
ReplyDeleteYour new look is just lovely!
ReplyDeleteLove the look. I am new to your blog so this is a new look for me also. I just read what you said about the overwhelming of being a momma. Especially a first time mom, like myself. Thank you for being open and honest about this. Sometimes I wonder just how I am going to manage.
ReplyDeleteThanks again
Lisa
Love the new look and the cool peanut story!
ReplyDeleteWe also have the severe peanut allergy issue....along with other foods. I still call my little ones peanut. What is cute is Keaton will sometimes turn and say, "Mom, Harrison is ALLERGIC to peauts!"
ReplyDeleteThey know...
The blog looks very classy and beautiful and fits your family perfectly.
ReplyDeleteI love the new look. It is so elegant. It is a cute story, not the allergy part. :)
