Will's Homecoming 2013

Wednesday, October 16, 2013

Will's high school homecoming game and dance was last weekend.  I asked Will early on if I could host his friends at our house for the dinner before homecoming dance.  Although, I know it might have caused him a little but of unease, he agreed to let me do it and I am so glad he did.

We had 18 kids and almost all of their parents (about 50 people) here for dinner Saturday night.  I cooked 4 giant trays of baked ziti and salad and bread.  Other parents generously brought appetizers and desserts.  I am so glad Will allowed me to do this for him and his friends.  I loved every single minute of it.  He has the nicest group of friends and I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the parents as well.

Will and his date, Caitlin.  I had not met Caitlin before but she is absolutely lovely. She immediately hugged me with a big smile when I met her.  She also brought some delicious oreo truffles to the dinner.

We had 12 kids in the dining room and we moved another table into my office and had 6 kids there.

I love these photos of Will and Harry too.
I don't see many of these tender brotherly moments these days....

The outside group photos were tough to get because it was really wet and drizzly.  We did not want the girls to have to sink in wet grass and mud but it was tough to squeeze everyone in on the back porch:)

It was such a nice night.  Will and his friends had a great time and so did we! Many of the parents stayed at our house talking and having wine until the dance was over!   Harry stayed up late at the dining room table talking with us all and it was good for him to see there is life after middle school. HA! We really enjoyed it.  I have to say that I feel so blessed to have such a fabulous teenager.
I  Love you, Will.
