The amazing power of prayer {Super Thankful Thursday}

White Oleander

I have really GREAT news to share.  Evangeline's parents won their battle with Kaiser and Evie will be able to get the life saving surgeries she needs at Stanford.  So a huge thank you to everyone who prayed and signed the petition!!!  My understanding is that the petition really helped sway Kaiser.

Evangeline will have her first surgery on August 23 so please continue to keep her in your prayers.  The caring bridge site is currently password protected but I will update you on her progress as they have given me permission to do so.

If you donated to the family, they will still be using the funds for care not covered by Kaiser and if there is any left, they will donate it to the Moyamoya clinic at Stanford for research or to help another family in need.

I want to share another miracle with y'all too. There is a woman our age in my church who had very advanced cancer.  I do not know her personally but many of my good friends are friends with her.  The doctors did not think there was anything left to do.  From my understanding she was given about a year to live (a while ago).  The women in my church dedicated themselves to praying the rosary for her every week.  Their prayer and dedication was constant.  She even went to Lourdes with faith and hope of healing.  She never lost faith according to my friends who know her.  At her last scan all signs of her tumor (s) were gone!!! The doctors were astonished.  It really is a miracle.

I know God does not always answer our prayers exactly they way we want them answered but He always answers them.  I am so grateful for these two answers to prayer today!!!

Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.

    Lucy is an amazing little 6yr girl who's was diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer in Feb of 2011. Her journey with cancer has brought her to the brink of death. Lucy has an amazing family and many who are praying for her daily. She battles a roller coaster of HIGHS and LOWS, but fight she does!! Lucy's amazing story is nothing short of GOD'S AMAZING GRACE AND MERCY!! There are so many of us praying for Lucy daily. A Praise report of Lucy scans are showing CLEAR!! Please join her prayer journey for this precious 6yr old. You will find yourself shouting GO...LUCY GO as well!!

  4. That's amazing! Actually, I was just randomly wondering how your friend was doing who is battling cancer (I think) and has a few young children. That was you, right, who posted that? I'll be so embarrassed if I've mixed up blogs and stories.

    1. Actually my friend "S" with young twin boys who is terminally ill is still very ill. She does have cancer but she has something else even more life threatening too. Please pray for her still.

      These miracles are amazing though.

  5. I am so happy that you've written about these two stories. Miracles indeed! My heart is so sad, as my best friend of 30 years just got diagnosed with breast cancer yesterday and I don't know what to do for her, except pray. I can do that.

    Thank you for these positive stories.
