So Proud of Will

Will_6450

He is taller than both me and Dave now.  He is definitely a teenager in every way (almost 15!).  And he is about to go to high school.  Will applied to two competitive private schools and several competitive magnet schools for high school this year.  We heard from both private schools and he was accepted at both (still waiting to hear from the magnet schools).  Not only was he accepted but he also got a partial scholarship to one of the schools because he scored so high on the admissions test.  We are really proud of Will because a lot of kids took a prep course for this admissions test and he did not (we did not know about the prep course in time). BUT he did prepare for a few weeks by doing the practice book and his hard work paid off.  God gave Will a fabulous mind and he uses it well.

As luck would have it, his first choice school was not the one offering the partial scholarship but we are going to let him go there anyway.  His best friend is going there too and it is reputed to be an awesome all boy college preparatory school.

P.S.  Just a little update on my 40 bags project.  I am plugging along slowly but surely.  I got 9 bags from the boys closets/drawers last week and we lugged them all to Goodwill. I think that puts me at 19 bags so I am behind but I am doing the best I can.  My low blood pressure/heart palpitation issue has been really hindering me a lot in my everyday life.  It is bad y'all.   I get out of breath simply standing up and walking across the room.  I cannot really lean over because my blood pressure plummets and my heart races. I see the cardiologist in a week and would love some prayer.

    1. Thanks Di. We need to connect. I am doing a lot of resting/sitting. It is a vicious cycle though. The more I sit almost the worse the symptoms get when I do need to stand...so I try to spread little tasks throughout the day.

    1. Thanks Janet. No Will is not driving yet. Theoretically he could start drivers ed this summer. We'll see. I am not sure he is ready. Driving is such a HUGE responsibility. Hope you are feeling well.

  8. Congrat's Will that is great! Way to go!

Kim, Take it from someone who has had almost 30 years with a heart condition. Shortness of breath is a classic sign for women with a heart problem. Take it easy until you see the cardiologist. If you start hearing stress or depression from him move on to another doctor. That was my sign and I wasn't listened to until I was rushed to a hospital and had open heart surgery.

Take care. We will pray for you.
    Hugs from CT

    1. Thank you Caroline. I am drinking a ton of water per doctor's (I do anyway). Next Monday cannot come soon enough for me. It is just near impossible to get in with a cardiologist. Even with my doctor's help, the shortest wait was about 3 weeks!!! Both docs assured me it was not stress related. I am so grateful for your sweet comment:) Thank you!!!

  9. Way to go Will! He is turning into quite the young man. Hope you feel better. I don't know if you read this blog of a fellow China Adoptive Mom, but you might find something in it for you: http://shirlee-mccoy.blogspot.com/2012/03/do-what-you-can.html.
