Dinner with Libbie and family:)

Tuesday, April 12, 2011
Life is so crazy here.  Good but crazy.  I have felt in years past that April/May and the end of school sometimes feels even more hectic than Christmas time.  And boy am I feeling that.  I feel like I am going 100 miles an hour with exercising, Bible study, working, kid's activities, purging (trying to do 40 bags in 40 days), scheduling doctor appts, planning summer camps, vacations and volunteering.  Kate has a Pre-K graduation and I am planning her birthday party for next month too.  It is all good but I really wish there were more hours in a day.

We did take a bit of time this weekend to slow down and enjoy some company.  We had Shelley, Steven, Hoot and Libbie over for dinner last Friday night.  I made two versions of Oregano Shrimp and served it over pasta ( a regular version and a gluten/dairy free version).  I had the GFDF version and it was yummy.  It is easy too.

My kiddos were smitten with their new friends, Hoot and Libbie.  Look at this little doll.  Who could not fall in love with her?

I did not have my camera "ready" for their visit.  I had it on outdoor-bright light settings from the last time I used it and not the best lens on.  I was busy cooking and never changed the settings but Shana's Florabella action "Envy"truly saved this shot. Seriously, you should have seen the "before." You can click on her actions at the top of my sidebar to learn more about them.  I highly recommend them!!

We really had a great time getting to know this family better.  I have known Shelley a little while  (and I adore her and Hoot!) but this is the first time we really got to talk to Steven.  He is such a kind and giving soul.  He was so easy to talk to and honestly sometimes I have trouble talking to men.  I am not a small talker.  I like to really connect with people.  And some men are not comfortable with that.  But Steven has a heart of gold and was so down to earth.

I did not take a lot of photos though.

Kate had a ball putting pretend make-up on Miss Libbie...

Will enjoyed doing some art with her....

And Harry, Will and Hoot climbed trees and played Wii too.  I just did not get any photos:)

I have so much to blog about and I will try to catch up but please forgive me if I am a little slack these days with both posting and visiting.

  1. She is beautiful - loving her pink bow! I'm sure Kate loves having someone around to put makeup on, as I can't imagine her older brothers are too cooperative! :)
