A sweet little cupcake
Monday, September 27, 2010
This summer I did a little photography for friends as I toyed with the idea of a small business. I think I have decided that photography is NOT my calling but rather a fun hobby. I did learn a bunch though and had some fun (and some stress). This shoot was probably my favorite one because it was pure fun. This little girl is the middle of 4 sisters and Mom wanted her to have a special photo shoot. She is an adorable little girl with gorgeous blue eyes and the light in the cupcake shop is incredible.
You should reconsider...you are very talented! These photos are beyond amazing...I especially love the one of her deciding on which goodie to order! Beautiful work.
ReplyDeleteLove the photos, and her beautiful blue eyes.
ReplyDeleteSo precious .. those eyes and curls! Fabulous photos, Kim.

Kim,
ReplyDeleteYou're certainly talented enough to go pro... but if you find it stressful, then it's a non-starter I guess. Take a look at this site:

It's my friend, Sue - we've know each other since I was 4. Check out her portrait work... I think yours are comparable, if not better. I think it comes down to having a 'good eye'... Some folks take magnificent wildlife and scenery shots (Like Sue). But, even the most professional of photogs have to have that ability that you have... to capture a moment in a look, a change in expression that changes the whole photograph... Maybe once all the peanuts are in school full time?! ;-)

Kim,
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful. They have such nice pure, clean light. And she is just beautiful!
I understand not wanting to start a business though. Taking the pictures is just the beginning and there are huge logistics once those images have been captured.
Kristi
yummy photos!! :) What a fun setting... it's making me hungry! ;)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful little girl!!! I would so love to learn the art of photography!! I know its probably "alot on your plate" right now, but you should reconsider in the future! You really are good!
ReplyDeleteI think you did an AMAZING JOB!!! I would have you ANYDAY :)
ReplyDeleteAnd you had to bring up that cupcake shop! Every since Kate's birthday there (when was that?) I have been wanting a cupcake shop in Des Moines :) No such luck - at least not as charming and adorable. Mya is having a Pinkalcious party in January and THIS cupcake shop would be the perfect setting...
Oh well.......
I totally understand keeping your photography for your family too - they are beautiful enough to keep you busy!
The first and sixth are by far the best, but they are all really good. Sometimes doing things for fun is, well, more fun.
