I started my yeast-free, sugar-free diet today. It is part of my adrenal recovery. I can eat...... ummm meat (some), fish, veggies and nuts. No fruit, no corn, no rice or potatoes. No vinegar (which is in ALL the good salad dressings). No chocolate, no butter or dairy. No wine!
I have eaten more today than I have ever eaten (a spinach, red pepper and onion omelet, celery sticks with organic sugar-free peanut butter, a salad with turkey, avocado, cucumber, and peppers, hummus and veggies, some radishes, and some raw cashews, and a chicken breast, raw broccoli and quinoa). That is a lot of food for me. But I feel really hungry and kind of sick. I have a headache and chills. Seriously. So, my huge mega Mother's Day post is going to have to wait. I am about 1/2 way done. Hopefully tomorrow will be better?
P.S. I am super behind on answering e-mails. If I owe you one, please remind me.
Well, your food intake for the day sounds super yummy! Maybe I need to join you to drop these last stubborn 10 pounds!
ReplyDeleteI have a feeling the apple snicker "salad" I ate today is not conducive to swimsuit season.
Hope you feel better tomorrow - looking forward to your Mother's Day post!
Sounds like a good, clean diet. I really hope it helps you feel better and stronger. Thanks for sharing about your journey with this. I'm very on top of nutrition, etc., but I try harder for the kids. Sometimes I just to tired to bother for myself!
ReplyDeleteHey, Kim! I think I remember that you guys are gluten-free, too, right?! Well, I'm gluten-free and yeast-free, and I buy this bread mix called Chebe from Amazon. It's basically just tapioca flour. You add egg, milk, and oil, but you can use egg substitutes and milk substitutes. It's not *wonderful,* but I've learned to like it for rolls and breadsticks for every once in a while, and the pizza mix is pretty good!! Just a thought ... I know the diet can be pretty tough. I also have a gluten-free, sugar-free cookbook that uses agave nectar in a lot of recipes ... not too bad. Hope you can find something that helps fill the void! ;)
ReplyDeleteYou poor thing! I hope you are feeling better tomorrow! I would be starving too!
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel better Kim. I know its so hard right now, but think of it this way - you are probably eating so healthy and once everything is out of your system you will feel so much better!
ReplyDeleteThinking of you!
oh dear Kim. that will take some getting used to. Hang in.

Happy belated Mother's Day!

Poor Kim. I hope you are feeling better tomorrow after a good night's sleep. That list of food didn't appeal to me at *all*. Not at *all* but you'll do it, I have faith in you. And in no time you'll be feeling better. I just know it. :)

I'm sorry the new diet is leaving you feeling this way. Hopefully it's just temporary and soon you'll be feeling better than ever.

Sounds good and healthy, the fruit part would be tough. Hope you're feeling better soon, I can relate to the headache part right now.
ReplyDeleteGood chatting with you about your Schoodle, come see our new pup.
Hope you had a marvelous Mothers Day!
You know I am crying with you about the wine!!!! I am so sorry you feel like crap.... Really, is there any other way to say that gracefully? I miss you, and I would take the bullet with you if I was there.... You can do this!!!! And, the payoff will be so worth it!!!
ReplyDeleteI am going to pray that God gives you the will power, and takes away the desires!
Love you!
Di
I really feel for you, Kim ... Pretty much what I eat, although I can eat fruits (my 'sweets').
ReplyDeleteHang in there, I am sure once your body adjusts to it you will feel great! :)
Happy be-lated Mother's Day!
Yeesh, that is a lot of food. Makes me wonder what all the yeast and sugars do to make you feel fuller? & NO WINE??? ugh...
ReplyDeletehow about some vodka?
Oh my -- am sure that is a healthy diet -- but no chocolate and no wine! OY!! Hope you're feeling better already!
ReplyDeleteJanet
sounds like very yummy food, but i know i would be starving too. it is just thinking about what you can't have!
ReplyDeleteThe no wine would hurt me the most :-)
ReplyDeleteCan you have lime/lemon juice? One of my favorite salad dressings uses lemon juice instead of vinegar and its very yummy. Its pretty simple: olive oil, lemon juice, crushed garlic and a tad of mustard.
Very tasty.
Hope you feel better soon.
I am sorry that you feel so icky. Reading about your diet (and others' in the comments) makes me realize that I need to eat better! I hope that you are feeling better soon. You must be frustrated. Saying a little prayer for you!
ReplyDeleteI think I am yeast intolerant and need to do this. But I just don't want to do that diet. I wouldn't be able to eat everything I love. But if you can do it, I can!!! Right?
ReplyDeleteSo sorry you are not feeling well...sending hugs and prayers your way~
ReplyDeletehang in there! The first few days are the hardest. I have never had to give up yeast, but I have had to give up sugar. It takes a couple of days for the body to adjust but it does. Also, make your own dressings. Use lemon instead of vinegar for your acid. Add a touch of mustard (is that allowed?) and some salt and pepper... Yummy!!!
ReplyDeleteHope you are feeling better:)
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Ashley
Good luck with it Kim! Please keep us posted on your progress!
ReplyDeleteI know you can do it! I can't wait to read that Mother's Day post!
