Harry's supplement

Tuesday, March 2, 2010

I have had several people e-mail or comment asking me about Harry's supplement. While, I would love to be of help to you all. I am very hesitant to share with you what it is because it is medicinal food that should only be used under a doctor's care. So, please ask your doctor if is right for you or your child first. It is called Elecare and he drinks 2 or 3 servings a day. It is really helping him. He is also taking three different prescription digestive enzymes to help digest his food. I believe it is this combination and some other things that the doctor and the nutritionist have suggested specifically for his condition.

I apologize for not blogging much or visiting blogs lately. I am also very behind in returning e-mails. I hope to catch up with everyone soon.

  2. It is such a relief when you find something that helps your child, glad you found that Elecare helps. We are probably heading down an enzyme regime with my toddler as he has had digestive issues for several years now.

  9. It's such a relief to have answers to questions and a direction heading towards healing.

I remember when my son was finally diagnosed with a corn syrup and red and blue dye allergies. After several years we were able to take a deep breath and start living again.

Hope Harry continues to improve ~

  11. Kim,
I enjoy your blog for many reasons. I think the first time I visited was for the design inspiration, and the second for the mommy part of it! :) I had a quick question, and please only get back to me when you have time (I know how busy you are) and just e-mail me briefly if you get a chance. I need some advice/help on how you got Kate off the "snack crack". My youngest daughter (age 2 1/2) is constantly asking/begging/talking about food/snacks. Even right after a full meal! She loves to stand at the cupboard and ask for everything. And trust me, she is offered fruit, raisins, cheerios, and other healthy snacks that I will gladly provide, but of course she wants a cookie, or "just a few M&M's". My husband nor I have spoiled her with sweets but she just seems to be constantly wanting food. It's like she's seriously addicted to the next "snack" she's going to get! How did you and Dave do it???? Help!

Thanks for your time! I thought of you when getting frustrated with this b/c I remember reading about this on your blag way back when!

    Take Care-

  12. Julie,

I only offered her healthy snacks such as fruit and I stopped buying anything else for a little while. Every-time she asked for a snack we tried to find something fun to do. I have found that she will ask for snack too right after eating a BIG meal. It is boredom half the time.

If I keep her busy, she forgets about snacks. It is HARD. She threw a lot of fits. But we did not give in. She has snacks now and then but they are nuts, fruits, smoothies, most of the time. Occasionally, she gets a gluten free oreo or fruit gummies.

Clementines have been our friend. I have a bowl out at her reach and she will eat 2 or 3 a day now. She can peel them herself and she loves them.

I think Kate did/does have a bit of a sugar addiction. So we are very careful with that. In fact, she had a cupcake yesterday for the first time in a long time and she threw up all afternoon. I think it was too much sugar since she has not had much in a while.

Not sure I helped but that is what we do and we still struggle from time to time but it is much better. She asked for ice cream for breakfast just today!
