Going private for a while

Monday, June 8, 2009

My children have reached an age where I think it is best if I change my blog to private for now. I feel like it is the safe thing to do.  Also, while I adore the blogging community, lately I am so busy with my real life friends and family that I have not been able to reciprocate the wonderful relationships here in blogland. I love most being a good wife, mother, family member, friend etc. and sometimes having a blog can get in the way of that. Nothing bad has happened, I just feel like this is the right thing to do right now.  I have prayed about this for a long time.

I might have another blog in the Fall once all 3 peanuts are in school but it would be far less personal (more recipes, spiritual inspiration, decor etc). Or I might find more time on my hands down the road and open this up again someday finding a way to be more protective of my children.

I want to thank every single person who has ever left a kind comment or good wish here.  You all have been so kind and supportive of our family for the past 2 years.  You have prayed for us, offered advice, shared funny stories, sent quilt squares and gifts and for all of that, I am so thankful.

If I know you in real life or have come to "know" you through the blog and you would like to be included on the private blog, please leave your e-mail in the comments (even if I KNOW it).  I will not publish them but it will make it A LOT easier to cut and paste them.  It will take me a few weeks to do this and I am not sure how many people blogger will allow me to have.  Please do not take it personally if I cannot include you. I have a large circle of friends and family and last time I checked the limit was 100.  HH~ if you can let me know how to get around that I sure would appreciate it:)

  1. I can totally understand your feelings on this. I struggled when I started my blog and closed it for a few weeks. You have to do what is best for you and your children. Since I don't know you in real life, I don't expect to be added. I just wanted to let you know that I have enjoyed following your sweet family.

  2. Oh, I will miss you. Your posts are always so pleasant to read. My favorites are the ones about your special traditions (oscar pajama party, progressive valentine's dinner, sharing favorite parts of the day). Those are so inspiring. Thanks for all you have shared and best of luck!

  3. I adore your blog and enjoyed reading each and every one of your posts. Although I am saddened by your decision, I completely understand.

I will greatly miss all of your beautiful photos. I will miss the decorating inpsiration I felt after seeing glimpses of your beautiful home. I will miss being inspired to do the best I can as a parent after reading about the wonderful relationship you have with your children. I could go on and on of everything I will miss about your blog.

Thank you for sharing parts of your life with us. I will greatly miss your blog. If you decide to do another blog in the fall, please let me know!!! Best of luck to you and your family.

  4. I will miss your blog and would love to be on your list when you start up again. I have followed it since I got my referral for my sweet SarahPearl. I have learned much from you...I too have had to follow the gluten fre diet for my children. Julia Anderson

  6. darn, I just went to print the pictures you had of Kate's first birthday cake with the pearls. I had visualized a cake very similar to that and when I saw yours I knew that I would have do something similar to it with the pearls for Hayden's first birthday in Sept.

If there is anyway at all do you think you still have those pics and could send me just one to have for the baker?? I am sorry to ask. I should have printed it when I saw it!!

    I loved that cake!!!

no biggie if not or you think that is bit odd. Not duplicating, just letting the baker be inspired by your cake:)
