Almost 3 years ago, I joined a Yahoo group for people adopting from China. I also joined the Rumor Queen site. At the same time, Diana was joining these groups and calling herself "Northern Girl." Every time I read her posts, I immediately felt a connection. We knew NOTHING about one another. We had no idea where each other lived, what we looked like, etc. but a friendship was formed. Over time this friendship has deepened and today Di is one of my closest friends. We talk every couple of days. We have laughed together and cried together, we have prayed together. Diana invited my family to visit her family last summer even though we had never met. We went and we had the time of our lives!
I am blessed to call her my friend. We always say how lucky we are that this adoption journey brought us not only our daughters but our friendship as well (and so many other blessings). Today is her birthday. Go here to wish her a very happy one! I get to celebrate with Diana in person as she is coming to visit in just a few weeks. YEAH!
Happy Birthday Di!
Luv ya!
Diana and Will
Beautiful pictures. In that last picture you two could pass for sisters! :)
ReplyDeleteBlogging is just the coolest. You start off documenting and "scrapbooking" your adoption journey and end up meeting some great people and forming wonderful friendships. What a blessing! Happy Birthday to Diana
ReplyDeleteKim, the two of you could pass as sisters!!

Isn't it amazing and wonderful how the Lord puts us all together. What a wonderful friendship.

ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Diana! The pigtails rock! :)

Im with Diana, I think I"ll put some pigtails in today too :)
ReplyDeleteWell, happy Birthday to her and what a great reminder of how 2 people (& their families!) can be brought together, I just love it!
You and your friend are beautiful people! Happy day to her!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures and a beautiful post.
ReplyDeleteI am amazed at how many wonderful friends I have through adoption. When we decided to adopt after raising our four boys we lost a lot of friends. We also gained a lot of wonderful friends.
I will hop on over and wish your friend a happy birthday. Enjoy your time together. Good friends are hard to come by : ) I value my friends.
What a great story!
ReplyDeleteTrue friends! I love the pigtails too. I can only pull my hair back one week a month (the week I have my hair colored) Otherwise, my roots tell everyone that I am not 29.
ReplyDeleteGreat friends are such a treasure. Very cute pic of the two of you.
ReplyDeleteGin =)
As much as our wait for Emerson sucked, I would have never traded it for a shorter wait. I would not have met some of my closest friends along the way had the wait remained at the 7-8 month mark. Over 3 years later, I am proud of the friendships made.
ReplyDeletep.s....you 2 could pass as sisters!
That sounds like such a special relationship. Some of the people we meet on our journeys our just amazing.
ReplyDeleteHey Sis!!!
ReplyDeleteIt was a fun day!! Thanks for starting it out with the Peanuts B-Day song!!!! I hope you got my voicemail!!!
HUGS,
Di
