The Bubble Gum Guru {Harry}

Tuesday, April 21, 2009

The next three posts will be about the individual peanuts.  I have had so many moments with the kids lately that I want to freeze and remember.  I have these realizations about my children but life gets so crazy and hectic that I fear I will forget some of my insights.

Harry....he is my determined and hard working one...He gives 110% to his endeavors and is determined to succeed.

He hangs signs like this all over the place...

He has put on magic shows and cleaned the baseboards to earn money.  He has made clay pots and homemade jam for fun and has been a GREAT issue solver. Currently, he is a Guru (not sure where he got this?)  You go to him and he gives very sage advice.  I went to him a few weeks ago and he told me to put my camera down, get off the computer and pray more (his delivery was very kind).  I followed his advice.

Bubble Gum Guru

The other day we went to the Children's Museum and they have a little town called Kidtropolis. In Kidtroplis you have a debit card, earn money through various jobs, vote, etc.  Harry LOVED it.  He went to each place, chose a job and was very hard at work. After collecting his paycheck at each location, he immediately deposited it into his account. He is such a saver (in real life too).

Next, we went to a part of the museum where you invented things.  Harry was really only interested on the paper airplane/rocket station.  He spent the entire time building paper airplanes and rockets and launching them.  Through trial and error and sheer determination, he perfected his paper models.  Where Will is a planner, Harry is a do-er!  Both are very important but I saw these differences very clearly this week.  They attacked the same situation in completely different yet equally impressive ways. They would make great partners.  Will is the idea guy, the planner.  Harry is a man of action.  He gets things done.

Harry does not really let me take his photo often but he let me take some this weekend...

  38. Hello. I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoy your blog. I don't comment because like you, I have 3 blessings and a traveling spouse.

    I also wanted to comment on your recent journey to a new home. Reading this has been very touching for me. See I to have been struggling with where I live. My husband and I have lived here in CO for almost 10 years. Moving never really seemed like a big deal since I grew up in the military, but now that I have children I reflect heavily on this. See, my issue is not that I moved, but that since having children where I live is a big adjustment. We are African American and live in a very affluant, predominantly caucasion area. So when you went to the park to meet a Mom like you, I can so relate. In the past 7 years, (since having kids) I have been to the park several times to meet someone who can relate to me, but not walked away with anything. I can relate on the entire school issue as well, but...
    Anyway, this is not about me. I just wanted you to know that there are many Moms out there that share common stories. Keep your faith in God and in your Family.
    Dana
