In the past, I have been known to start taking down the decorations Christmas night (or the 26th), so I am shocked that our tree is STILL up. It will be coming down this weekend. We have had 5 or 6 families over for dinner parties in the last 2 and a half weeks, so I am exhausted. It was nice to entertain so much this holiday season but I am ready for my house to be stripped of the festive decor. I am also ready for a nap!
I was very ready to change the blog look. So, I threw this up for now. My kids have the same names as the princes (William and Harry) and if you know our last name, you know this is even more appropriate. I did not name my kids after the princes. In fact, it never dawned on me until someone else pointed it out. They are both family names. I am not sure if I will keep this look up or not but it is here for now. With 3 kids home for break I don't have much time to play on the computer. If you need help designing a blog, go see my friend Jennifer. She is really good and so kind. You will be very happy. She has done my blog before and I will certainly use her again!
Okay, now I need your advice...I made two headers~the one you see and this one below. Which do you like better?
Today, Kate was invited to a birthday party at the zoo. It was really nice. The parents of the birthday boy adopted an animal in each of the party guests' name. Kate "adopted" a Chilean Flamingo!
The staff of the zoo brought in various animals for the kids to pet...
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the new look!
ReplyDeleteI have been reading your blog for a while (this is my first time to comment) and always feel inspired by your posts...everything from your beautiful photographs to Kate's impeccable wardrobe.
ReplyDeleteEver since I read about your family allergies, I have been meaning to share a doctors name with you. My mom had breast cancer a couple of years ago and because of the stress on her body, she developed Ciliacs. She was really struggling healthwise, and someone finally referred her to a homeopathic doctor in your area. He is one of the top homeopaths in the nation. She commuted to see him, and he helped her immensely. I imagine you have a homeopathic doctor in your town already, but if you are interested, please email me (lucymurch@gmail.com) and I would love to share his information with you.
Also, on a different note: Prince Williams girlfriend's name is Kate... how appropriate!!
your new header is sooooo cute. i can't believe Kate touched the lizard!! omg. this summer my desi was afraid to touch the alligator! lol. you go girl. don't be afraid. (i would be :))
ReplyDeleteOhhh, I LOVE your new header! Adorable!! Can you please share where it is from? I would love to do some kind of scrap booking with it....reminds me of my kiddos.
ReplyDeleteI'm opposite of you...usually like to keep decorations up until after the New Year, but this year had everything down yesterday. I was SO ready this year!
That looks like one fun party!!! I'm sure the kids loved it!
Have a wonderful 2009 in your new home!!
Who can I go to help me with a new look for my blog. I have the boring standard template. see me at Hootsmom. I love your creativeness.
ReplyDeleteI love the new look too. where can i go for help?? I have the boring standard template. I'd love to spice it up. do you subscribe to a blogger scrapbook? Let me know. I'm hootsmom.
ReplyDeleteLooks like such a fun party at the zoo...but for the record...that giant rabbit was making my heart race and my palms sweat. That is just all wrong.
ReplyDeleteKate's hair is getting so long!!! She looks so pretty!
I like the new look!
I also can never wait to get stuff put away...and since we left the day after Christmas to visit family, I started putting decorations away on Christmas afternoon...and I was promptly chastised by my husband. I think he would like them up year round!
Happy New Year!
Kate
I don't think I would change the header at all...I think it is perfect!!! So unique and creative. I never thought about your boys being named after the Prince's, but they are : ) I am way too old for Prince William, but I do think he is dreamy : )
ReplyDeleteLove Kate's themed outfit for the zoo party! Precious. I love the idea to adopt an animal after each party guest. Clever!
Happy New Year!
What a cute idea for a party. I love your new look... so cute!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, my friend.
Loving the new look!
ReplyDeleteSo brave of Kate to touch that creepy lizard! I know I wouldn't LOL.
We keep our decoration until The Three Kings Day. This year I started to bring them down ealier. I am so ready for this new year!
Kim,
ReplyDeleteI love your new blog look- so cute and so appropriate :) Looks like Kate had a good time at the party-what a neat idea for the parents to adopt an animal in honor of each child. BTW, I have been known to start taking ornaments off the tree Christmas day too, so know your not the only one!!
Emily
Love the new header!!
ReplyDeleteYour new blog design is great! I hope your family has a wonderful and blessed 2009.

I Was ready to take the blog decs down too.
ReplyDeleteYou know, it NEVER dawned on me a bout the boys names either.
At least Kate knows what a party is for;)
Kim:
ReplyDeleteI love the new look! I found your blog a few weeks ago and over the weekend started from the beginning and read every entry. I felt as if I was on an amazing journey. You are raising 3 beautiful children. Will and Harry melt my heart, they are genuine, caring boys that are going to be an example to young me in this world. Kate is the sweetest girl. I want her wardrobe. Who else wears leopard to the zoo? Every outfits matches perfect with the event. You are a true inspiration and role model. I can only hope to be half the Mom you are. Thanks for the laughs and the tears, can't wait to see what happens next.
Nancy
OH, I LOVE the prince/princess theme at the top! I never thought of your boys names either- funny! And your last name is oh so fitting!!
ReplyDeleteKim,
ReplyDeleteI love the new blog look. Very appropriate. The entire zoo birthday party concept is adorable. Thanks for sharing with us. :) I can't blame Kate for loving cupcakes, I love them too. :)

ReplyDeleteThe party idea is a great one! I love Kate's animal themed shirt! You are always so prepared!
What a fun idea! I bet the kids had a ball!!
ReplyDeleteHope your New Year is going wonderful!!
Hi Kim! I personally like the second header that you posted!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea for a party! My boys have never been to a zoo party, but the closest zoo is about an hour and a half away! Good luck getting everything down. I only have my Christmas cards on ribbons to take down and Emma's tree. Instead I started cleaning out the boys' games and toys today...big mistake! I am only half-way done. Instead of a one-day project, I think this will be an all weekend project!
The new header is very cute - did you draw the princes and princess yourself? Both are very good but I do like the one in the frame a little bit better.
ReplyDeleteKim! You are so talented! LOVE the new blog look! I think I like the header in the oval, but really like them both! Maybe switch back and forth for a while! You are going to inspire me to figure it out like you have!!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!! We will be taking down our tree this weekend too!!
Very cute new blog header and cool birthday party.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to find out about where that cool Mommy t-shirt came from :O)
Happy New Year! Hugs, Michele

ReplyDeleteJanice
Love the new look, I really like the second one it just looks finished to me. Great party, I to am like Kate its all about the cupcakes.
ReplyDeleteYou and I must have switched places this year I never take decorations down the day after but this year it was all done by the 27th!!! Don't know what got into me.
Kim! Too funny! I am almost the exact same measurements as you! I am 5'2" and 108 and wear a 32D also! I have a really small waist but a very curvy figure and find it really really hard to dress. I almost always have to have things remade or altered! What stores/brand do you have the best luck with?
ReplyDeleteP.S. Love the new blog look! :)
What a fun party..like Kate's outfit too!
ReplyDeleteI think I like the header in the post better.
Hi Kim,
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute idea for a blog header. I think they're both great, but am placing my vote for the oval one. Love that Kate is in leopard print at the zoo. So cute!
Cute, cute header!! I had to laugh that I usually take my decorations down on the 26th, but made it to the 28th this year...hee hee!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year...it was fun to catch up yesterday~
I DO love the new header and I also like the other one with the cute trim around it!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great time and what a treat to see those animals up close and personal!
