My creation
We celebrated Chinese New Year with some new neighborhood friends this weekend. It was a lot of fun. As you can see, Kate LOVES her new friend, Eden. Eden's Mom is from Hong Kong so she can teach me a lot about Chinese traditions. Our families really enjoy each other's company.

We had a great time last year celebrating with Denise and her family (we miss y'all).  I cannot believe how much Kate has changed sine then.  You can see those photos here. I decorated better last year:)

How will you celebrate?

  2. When I saw the title of this post, I got very sad thinking about not celebrating CNY with you all. I am having a few families here next Saturday night to celebrate and am nervous because I am not the hostess that you are!

Glad you had fun, and your home always is beautiful and inviting.

I will try to call you tomorrow or Tuesday~

  21. Kim,

Thanks so much for your comments about the headaches on my blog. It is baffling to me why this is happening and my mind always goes to the worst possible thing. It sounds like you have had your struggle as well-- I cant imagine some of the things you have had to endure- you are a strong woman. Hopefully I can get some answers tomorrow and possibly rule out things with MRI's etc. Thanks for your support!

We went to a nice lunch today and Mia wore her Chinese dress. Later this week we are getting together with Karen and Becky and the other moms for a Chinese New Year play date and next weekend we are going to dinner at Karens for CNY. I so look forward to it as this is the first year we have really had a group to celebrate with-- it feels great to have like friends.

Have a great day and thanks for your help with the headaches.

I tried your tip from a while back adding some tulips with really cold water to our house and it definantly makes a nice statment.

    have a great day!

  33. Isn't it so much fun to share this time with the girls and our families? Joanne hosted our neighborhood gathering this year (she posted already -- I haven't had a chance yet). It was wonderful! Yesterday, Joanne and I went to the class of our 5th grade sons (they are in class together this year) and my exchange student did a fun powerpoint presentation for the kids. Happy New Year!

  37. Happy New Year!! Em's favorite silk is her pink one - she likes the turquoise one she wore yesterday too:) Hannah loves her red! Looks like a good time was had by sweet Kate. Hannah calls all other little girls who look like her, "Kate".

For the record, I love the design posts. I have to be VERY fiscally responsible right now, so I like thinking outside the box as far as decorating our home. In due time, I will do to it what I have always dreamed, for now, my dreams are enough...but you have inspired me to write down some of them.

Hope you are having a lovely day.

    Hugs,
    Heather
