Our Christmas decorations are very simple this year. I love fresh greens and garlands throughout the house and draped along the front porch railings but this year we decided to spend less time decorating and more time as a family. I think we are so sick of unpacking that we just wanted to be lazy and have a simple Christmas. We even decided not to have our Christmas party. Although we love doing that, we needed a simple Christmas. And I must say, I am not stressed and I feel more connected to the true reason we celebrate December 25th. So, a few people have asked me to post photos of our decorations...here they are...
Kim,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful decorations- your house looks very festive. Is your tree artificial, and if so would you mind posting what kind it is. We are going to buy a new one after this years Christmas. Yours looks very full and "real". Thanks!
Emily
Tasteful and beautiful. I love the magnolia, little boxwood wreaths and your Radko ornaments...all so pretty.
ReplyDeleteKim,
ReplyDeleteEverythign looks beautiful! Your simple decorations are so much more than my regular ones! :)

ReplyDeleteMy goodness, you should be a professional decorator! I love your tree. I think that second pic of Kate (even though a little blurry) is precious!!!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!
Beautiful, stunning, simply elegant...I could go on and on to describe your holiday decorations.
ReplyDeleteIf you don't mind, may I ask where you got your countdown to Christmas and the little boxwood wreaths? I adore those.
Happy Holidays
I think it looks beautiful. I gave up on the inside and didn't decorate like I normally do. To be honest I don't miss it that much. I think your house looks great and much more decorated than mine :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, could be from a catalogue... Merry Christmas to you and your family!
ReplyDeleteOh Kim... it is just magical. I love every single special touch. Now your new house will surely feel like your home. Kate is a ision in her sugarplum skirt. Merry Christmas to you all.
ReplyDeleteEverything is beautiful! I love to hear that you have simplified and have a chance to take a deep breath and enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI tried to email my details but I'm not sure you got them. I am having trouble with sent mail over the past couple of days. If you hvae a chance, let me know.
Thanks!
Just lovely....so glad you enjoying these moments....
ReplyDeleteI love all the pictures. Everything looks so pretty. I think it's smart to have a calm Christmas. You've had so much going on.
ReplyDeleteYour house looks very festive! And Kate looks adorable in front of the tree. :-)
ReplyDeleteLovely...
ReplyDeleteOk - Of course I love it all, because you have fabulous taste! But, my favorite are the magnolia wreaths with the simple white ribbons hanging from your cupboards! Makes me miss my big Magnolia tree at our house in Brentwood. The photo of Kate just posing for you is beautiful of her! The hot pink is fabulous!!!!
ReplyDeleteFYI - talking softly did NOT work!
Love,
The Non-Alpha Dog
Simply Beautiful!!! I love all the decorations!!!!! Kate looks beautiful as well!!!!
ReplyDeleteOf course you can make the simple look so beautiful...love the tutu pics!
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful! I love your tree! I love trees filled with many beautiful and sentimental ornaments! We also decided not to do our huge Christmas party this year. While I am missing the entertaining part, the no stressing over it was surely worth it!
ReplyDeleteI am so thankful that you responded to my blog. I'm Hoot's mom. I'm really a rookie at all this blogging, but I love it. We're near Houston and adopting so the world of blogs has been so encouraging. I just figured out how to post on your blog today!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean. We did minimal decorations, too. All that unpacking just wipes it right out of you.
ReplyDeleteKim, everything is so beautiful and elegant - just like you! And sweet Kate is the perfect *angel* in the tableau!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!
Beautiful decorations! Your taste is impeccable...you could be a decorator. Accessorizing is so difficult for me; I struggle with putting it all together.
ReplyDeleteCute photos of Kate, she is just darling.
Happy Holidays!
Karen
Simple, elegant, beautiful - love it!
ReplyDeleteOMG...that is stunning. I wish I could steal your tree!!!
ReplyDeleteI agree that simple is best. I would like to ask you if you guys actually strung the popcorn or if it is artificial. If it is artificial, where did you get it? I love it. I have some artificial cranberry garland that I love but have never been able to find more for a larger tree. I think I would like the old fashioned look of the popcorn.
ReplyDeleteWow,Kim! It all looks so beautiful. And, of course, I love the sweet pictures of Kate. I'm so glad to hear you're able to enjoy this Christmas season with more relaxation, mindfulness and family time. We all should do the same.
ReplyDeleteGin =)
Just beautiful!!! I am so happy to hear that you are enjoying the season and feel relaxed! Kate is adorable as always...Miss Addison has that same little tutu skirt : )
ReplyDeleteHi Kim~
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to stop in for a moment and catch up some. I've been away from blog world for the most part. Your house looks simply elegant.
I am glad to hear you feel less stress than normal and are focusing on the true meaning of Christmas. More people should follow that idea.
Wishing you all the best this Christmas and in 2009.
Much love,
Lisa
Simple and pretty. Glad you guys are getting back to normal. I see you found some mercury trees! I used mine again this year on the dinning room and I still just love them like the first time I bought them. I posted some pictures of it they are close to the top of the Tour pictures.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas
Your tree looks amazing! Wishing you and your family a wonderful holiday season!
ReplyDeleteI've always thought something was "missing" from my Christmas tree. My tree, like yours, has lots of hand blown glass ornaments on it. After seeing the pictures of your tree, I realized it's the garland that's missing. It really just makes the tree, doesn't it? Yours looks just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!
Your tree looks goregous. I wish I was brave enough to try real garland. Does it make a mess? Maybe I will be brave enough next year. Everything looks goregous as usual, simple or not. :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Your home is so festive and warm. Simple is just magnificent!! Merry Christmas!!
ReplyDeleteeverything is so beautiful Kim! Looks like 3 peanuts are all set for the holidays!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE KATE DANCING ALL ADROUND THE TREE!!
ReplyDeleteBUT YOUR HOUSE IS SO ELEGANT AND SO BEAUTIFUL TOO!!!
JUST LIKE ALL OF YOU ARE!!!
