He is adventurous.
He is a thinking man.
He has a sensitive side.
He has a silly side.
He can be serious.
I love when he is "Happy Harry."
Instead of doing a bunch of summer camps, we hired a Mother's helper a few days a week this summer. Will is almost 11 (in about 13 days). Harry is 7 and Kate is 2 so they all have very different interests and needs. I feel very fortunate to have another set of hands to help me part-time. This way, Jenna (our helper) can take the boys to the pool during Kate's nap and I can spend some one on one time with each peanut. I am even hoping to get a couple hours of time to myself once in a while:)
On Mondays, I am having individual summer dates with the boys. Today, Harry and I went to Ihop (his choice). We had such a nice time and the food was yummy too.. This afternoon, we are going to the bookstore to get Pippi Longstocking. Harry chose that as our new summer book. We will begin reading it together:) The first day of summer break has gone well so far;) How is your summer going?
Kim~
ReplyDeleteHarry is so cute...I remember those ages and another set of hands is always helpful. I have been planning individual time with my boys this summer too (when our summer finally begins...we still have 2 weeks of school here!) Even at their ages of 15, 13, and 11, they still need and enjoy it!
Cute pictures of Harry! He is such a handsome little guy!
ReplyDeleteIt will be so nice to have an extra set of hands during the summer time. Enjoy your one-on-one time with each of your peanuts!
So cute! You have the cutest boys! That sounds like a wonderful idea! Do you think I can justify a Mother's helper with only one child :) Is that just called a babysitter? Sounds fabulous none the less. We are huge IHOP fans! YUM! Glad your summer is off to a great start. I hope it's cooler at your house than mine! I think we are topping off at 101 or so today-yuck!
ReplyDeleteKim,
ReplyDeleteI just love Harry's sweet, handsome, expressive face. I bet he is just so much fun to be around.
I love how you have organized your summer. You are an amazing mom, you always inspire me!
Isabella still has 2 and a half weeks left at school and then she is home for summer. We have some fun stuff planned too! I love summer!!
Michelle
Matthew misses you Harry - he is practicing some new dance moves for the next time we see you! We all love you - Aunt Staci
ReplyDeleteI love the photos of Harry -- a truly special boy! Your "date day" is a great idea. Our summer vacation does not begin for 3 more weeks!!!!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great plan for your summer!! Harry is such a cutie -- gotta love those freckles! Enjoy your summer!
ReplyDeleteJanet
Harry is a handsome little man and it sounds like his Monday date is pretty cool. Great idea getting a mothers helper for the summer. Have a great summer!!
ReplyDeletegreat Kim! Harry's beautiful personality really shines through in these photos!
ReplyDeleteWe went to the park this morning even though its VERY hot. After a week in the pool we had to get out of here;)
We have one park that has shade over one part and even playing 30 min is good. The heat is supposed to break tommorrow and the rest of the week is 80's which is pretty doable for outdoor activities so we might get some kind ot fun trip in this week too.
We are reading a book together too. (in the mornings before Caitlyn wakes.) Its a children's treasury of stories. After nap today we will go sweat it out by the pool I think. Just having quiet time now.
He is oh so handsome! So happy you have a helper- I certainly am thankful for my big girls. They help out a lot with EllaKate. It makes for a much easier summer!!!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad that your summer is off to a wonderful start. Mine is somewhere in the middle of a whole bunch of camp applications. I am the secretary to a youth minister and their camp is next week so I get to spend this week weeding through mountains of paperwork to make sure all the I's are dotted and all the T's are crossed!!! My fun will begin next week when I get to join them at camp!!! Enjoy the extra hands and the book!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cutie! Sounds like a perfect way to spend time with each of your peanuts. Trying to find time to spend alone with each of my boys is such a challenge. But even a trip to the grocery store can be good talking time.
ReplyDeleteHave fun with yor peanuts!
Natasha
What great pictures! We have been out of school for 2 weeks now and I love it! No homework! It is SO hot here, so we must be either inside or at the pool! Both are fine by me. Have a great week! Kim

Sounds like this will be a great summer for you. We are so busy with baseball right now, but July should be much more relaxing.
ReplyDeleteHarry is so handsome. Good for you with the summer help. I am sure that with the age differences you would have been at all kinds of camps. I am sure a day with Mom all by yourself will be a big hit. Brady is off at camp and I am busy doing little things before I head off to a extreme boot camp in Florida for a week. Wish me luck I will post about it soon.
ReplyDeleteThat Harry is just so cute. He needs to be in commercials with that face! I think it sounds like you have the perfect plan for this summer.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy my friend.

His freckles are adorable. What a handsome fella. I am so glad he is spoken for.
ReplyDeleteA mother's helper. Great idea. I will have to remember that for next summer. It sure would make the pool a lot easier.
Harry is too cute! I love those freckles!!
ReplyDeleteI love the mother's helper idea! Enjoy that one-on-one time!
Monica
Your boys look so sweet. Not exactly a word they probably want to hear, but they really do look like nice kids.
ReplyDeleteYour handsome date is adorable!!!! So glad to hear that summer is off to a good start. So far, so good over here too! I did escape today for a little pampering. I have a big date with Jeff on Thursday night, so I thought I would take advantage of having a sitter... Tennis starts tomorrow! Now, we need pool weather, and life will be even better!!!
ReplyDeleteI hope your arm is feeling better!
Hugs,
Diana
Oh, how your sweet Harry makes my heart smile..... you can't help but be touched by his sweetness that just shines through! Sounds like a lovely time planned with your sweetings this summer. You know I think you are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteNow, a while back I asked you a question when you posted about a special vacation via plane..... I can't help but be selfish.... so please put me out of my misery.... are you still coming to Hilton Head in Aug? I need to know so if not I can grieve..... and then just be so happy for your family and start looking forward to next year.... but, if you are still coming I say..... WOOHOOOOO! Good for me and my Jewels!!!!!
Love you
He is...SO DARLING!
ReplyDeleteGlad your summer break is off to a great start. I look forward to hearing about all of your one-on-one adventures with your peanuts. (GREAT idea!)
What a great idea to have a Mother's helper around. I also love that you and the boys are going on dates every week. I bet they will look forward to it every week and I know you will too.
ReplyDeleteOur summer has been very busy so far. Hopefully things will calm down soon. Have a great week!
We aren't really in summer yet. The kids get out next Thursday. But I can feel summer coming on. I took the boys to the beach last weekend. I am so excited to be able to enjoy the beautiful area that we live in. We have some travel plans and lot of fun in the sun. And of course, no school work. My teenagers are most happy about that.
ReplyDeleteLauren
Love the images of Harry! He is just priceless! I am so glad that you found someone for the summer - I don't know what we'd do without Holly! Enjoy your dates :D
ReplyDeleteLadybug hugs,
;D
I love the idea of one on one time with each child. I have a mother's helper twice a week and am planning to do the same thing. With my youngest in preschool last year it was easy to get the one on one time since she was home two days a week. I've missed my oldest, though, since he went off to kindergarten. Any great ideas for one on one "dates" with a 6 year old boy?
ReplyDeleteKim,
ReplyDeleteI love the pictures of Harry, he is just the cutest thing!! The last picture is amaZING!!! awesome skin tones and his eye have a beautiful sparkle to them, I hope you'll frame it!!!
I hope we can get together this week!!
Karen
If you have the chance, you should watch the Pippi movie (not cartoon) that came out years ago. It is wonderfully adventurous! I hope Harry enjoys the book!
ReplyDeleteLove the freckles! Harry is one handsome little guy. You will love having a helper. I don't know what I'd do now without Brooke! The kids love the special times they have with her, too.
ReplyDeleteWe have thought about hiring someone too, when we get out other daughter home. Not sure yet if we will. How is that going? How old is she?
ReplyDeleteDebbie
After you read Pippi...see the movie! It's hysterical!
ReplyDeleteMother's helper and special "dates" with the kids...What a great idea!! I will file that away for things to remember when my kiddos "arrive"!!
ReplyDeleteHarry is just too cute! How special you will have dates with each of your boys! Hope you all enjoy your summer and keep cool.
ReplyDeleteKaren
Harry is such a handsome boy....
ReplyDeleteI used to be a mother's helper and I saw how much the mother needed and benefitted from another set of hands! I think it was a smart move on your part to hire someone!
ReplyDeleteMy summer officially starts Friday once school gets out! I'm working at a summer camp, but that's so different from teaching! I can't wait!
Kim,
ReplyDeleteI love the pictures of Harry. He is so cute.
Love,
Aunt Doonie
Harry is too cute, love the freckles. Why is it that freckles are so darn cute on kids but I would sand paper mine away if I could, oh that's right, micro-dermabrasion is just that! ;)
ReplyDeleteSo nice you have help! It will make the summer so much more enjoyable!
Harry is too cute. Sounds like you have a fun summer planned. Can you send some of that warm weather our way:)
