Christmas Specials

Wednesday, December 19, 2007
As a little girl growing up, I vividly remember getting an early bath, putting on my pajamas and climbing onto the couch with my sisters and my Mom and Dad to watch the Christmas specials. It was before the days of DVR so it seemed so special to catch these show that only aired once a year.

Our family now is especially fond of the Charlie Brown specials and we watch them all together. Last week we all cuddled up to watch, All I want for Christmas is a dog, Charlie Brown. Kate Emerson sat with her brothers and LAUGHED and LAUGHED through the whole thing. Being the Mamarazzi (thanks for the term Shana) that I am... I had to take photos!

Oh, that Snoopy just CRACKS me up!

(Notice that reddish-auburn streak in her hair? The bow usually covers it but she has had that natural highlight since we got her.)

Kate didn't have a bow because she just had a bath. Now when the hair falls in her face, she either pushes it to the side, blows it away (as she is doing here) or asks for a bow!

Oh my, how will it end? Will he get the dog or not. The suspense is killing us!
Today, I have 2 posts. We are having so much fun this Christmas season and I want to remember every little detail of Kate's first Christmas!

  1. Every time I get on your blog the two words that ALWAYS come to mind. Precious-Darlin (Yes, darlin not darling). I just love seeing how you hold moments and capture pictures in time that are not posed, but a real life journal of family hope. Wishing you a beautiful, merry Christmas.

  14. Hi Kim, those pictures are fabulous! Especially the hair in the face ones!

I loved watching the Christmas specials too when I was young. The Little Drummer Boy always made me cry like a baby because the boy had no parents and was treated terribly. I still get teary-eyed when I watch it or hear the song.

I hope you have a smashing Christmas!
