School--I love the school day! My house is actually clean and peaceful for a few hours (relatively speaking, that is).
The wonderful teachers my boys have been blessed with this year.
Friends that lift me up when I am down.
That Kate's first cold is getting better (we have both been under the weather this week).
My husband for doing even more than he usually does when I am sick:)
My friend, Daleea who has shared the most incredible story about the generosity of others. Read about how people she had never met helped provide the means to bring her "jewels" home. It is titled "Providence" on her blog. It truly makes you realize all of the good that is out there.
Teri @ In His Hands (http://www.riobello.typepad.com/adventures/) received her referral for Ella Claire. Click the above link to see her beautiful new daughter. Teri has followed this blog with supportive comments since before our referral. She also introduced me to "Thankful Thursday." I could not be more thrilled for her today!! I know she is floating on air!
Kate has been home 5 months this week and she has been the greatest blessing to our family. I finally got up the courage the other night to watch the video of when Dave met Kate in China. I had not watched it before because I did not want to see Kate's face if it was fearful or grieving. I just wasn't ready. Well, I watched it this week and it was beautiful. Kate looked right into her Daddy's face as if she had been waiting to see him all of her little life. I was actually on the phone when Dave got Kate so it was interesting to "see" what I had heard. I will post this video eventually. Maybe once Kate and I are feeling better and I have more time.
I know it is not Thursday yet but as I am feeling yucky...I had a minute while Kate was napping and decided to take advantage of it. I feel worse as the day goes on and I cannot type clearly while on NyQuil* (or ever really).
Added--I took the picture of Kate's leg and foot but I am pretty sure Debbie from Hiking though Life with Ian and Lili took the second one with my camera. To answer some questions.... I use a Nikon D-80. I do not have Photoshop but I think I will get it very soon. I just got lucky at the beach with the pictures:)
I'm sorry you're not feeling well!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your sweet words--we are SO blessed! I stalked your blog, as you know, every day and I still stalk it! LOL! Kate is so cute, I've fallen in love with her sweet face.
Thanks, Kim!
Blessings~
Feel better!
Hi Kim - Feel better! And hoping Kate feels better quickly - never fun.
ReplyDeleteI watched Hannah's video early on and had to turn it off. I wasn't ready either. So incredibly emotional - I remember those moments, but seeing them is like, WOW! You are right, it is easier when we see how happy and content they are now.
Hoping the week ends with you feeling much better!
Heather
Could the leg & foot shot be any cuter? Sorry you girls are under the weather. Please take care of you while taking care of Peanut #3!!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Diana
Hi Kim, sorry you're under the weather. Mine have both been sick too. DD2 has the yuckiest nose! :(
ReplyDeleteYour pictures are gorgeous! Love that foot shot!
I haven't watched the video of me receiving dd2 either. I was there! I remember the screaming and flailing vividly. I wonder when I'll screw up the courage to actually watch it!!~!
Hey, I was on the phone with you that night! I was a nervous wreck right along with you!!
Snick :)
Hope you and Ms. Kate get well soon. I just got over a cold myself. It is evident that Kate truly is a blessing in your family. I LOVE the picture of Kate's little foot! She and the boys are just adorable!

ReplyDeleteTerri is a very special person. We are blessed to know her here in blogland.
You are a blessing too.
Oh, and I don't want to forget to mention Daleea. She has a tremendous heart. Ok, enough blog comment hogging : )
ReplyDeleteOh my... look at that chunky lil leg! LOVE IT!!!! Great pics!
ReplyDeleteKim,
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry you are feeling lousy. Summer colds are the pits! I will pray for some relief for you and Miss Kate ASAP.
What kind of camera do you have? You have such a gift for capturing the coolest pix.
As always, I am inspired by your thankfulness.
Get well soon!
Lisa
I can't wait to see the video! Thank you for posting the link to your friends' blogs. I cried when I read/watched both. :)
ReplyDeleteOh! One more thing.... Feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteI hope you and Kate feel better soon. The pictures of Kate's little foot and sweet sleeping face are so precious!

Daleea
I hope you and Kate feel better quickly. Love your list for Thursday. I agree about Daleea. She is such a Jewel herself.
ReplyDeleteConnie
Love the photos. The shot of Kate's leg and foot is so cute! You're quite the photographer. I really hope you're feeling better soon. I've been thinking about you.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if I told you but I picked up photoshop elements. If you aren't doing anything professional I was told it is sufficient, and it's just under $100 instead of $700. You should look in to it.
Feel better soon!
Love,
Danielle
Hope you feel better soon! Mommas aren't suppose to get sick, are we!!
ReplyDeleteI am so thankful for my friends too- have a very blessed week!

Those are really great pictures.
ReplyDeleteBeverly
Just found your site from Sting my Heart. You have a beautiful family! I enjoyed your list and I hope you feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteIt's so good to give thanks.
ReplyDeleteHope you and Kate are back to 100 percent soon.
The pictures are stunning, as always.
Those are great pictures! I have been blown away by the goodness of the Lord as I have visited each site. I was reminded again of your precious story when the "3 peanuts" blog started downloading, and my own sister's 20 year wait for her miracle of her little girl. God is so good. His timing is perfect. He had the perfect little girl picked out for you just as He did for my sister Wanda!
ReplyDeleteYou are blessed and I love reading the incredible joy I find here every time I visit!
God bless you! :)
Hope you're feeling better. The pictures are awesome! Blessings on your weekend.
ReplyDeleteLove the sweet photos and thanks for sharing your blessings.
ReplyDeleteHope you're feeling better! :D
