I am thankful for him for many reasons. Here are just a few:
He coordinates elaborate (and sometimes simple) romantic and thoughtful gestures for me from time to time.
He is a GREAT cook and does about 60% (sometimes more) of the cooking in our house.
He has always been the kind of "hands on" Dad who changes diapers, does midnight feedings and nightmare comforting. He has never thought that caring for his own children was "babysitting."
He makes me laugh.
He is handsome (just look at him)!
He helps me get the house ready for functions (like this week) and keeps the kids out of the way when I am hosting book club or other functions at the house.
He is patient.
He is teaching our sons how to be caring, loving, thoughtful young men.
He always puts his family first.
He is an awesome soccer and baseball coach for the boys.
He went to China without another adult to bring our Kate Emerson home. What more can I say about that?
He puts up with me and trust me that is not always easy to do!
He converted to my religion so that our family would be cohesive in faith and worship.
He is smart, athletic, and nurturing.
He told me to go to sleep at 8 p.m. last night even though there were dishes to be done, kids to tuck in, etc.
He keeps me warm when I am cold:)
We are true and complete partners in parenting, in our marriage and in life.
My husband's greatest legacy is his kind and giving heart. I cannot even put into words the kind of man that he is. I am blessed that God brought him into my life and thankful for the almost 12 years of marriage we have shared so far. I look forward to so many more.
This world needs more men like your husband. I am glad the two of you found each other and that God has so richly blessed the both of you. I have said it before--he is definitely showing the way for Will and Henry to be future husbands and fathers and raising the bar for what Miss Kate should look for in a mate.
ReplyDeleteThanks for reminding ME to thank my husband for all that he is to me.
Hugs,
Lisa
May your family always be greatly blessed dear one.

ReplyDeleteAlongside that wonderful King is a remarkable and gracious Queen. Thank you for your blog.
ReplyDeleteYou do have lots to be thankful for, Dave sounds like a dreamboat hubby!
ReplyDeleteYou have definitely been blessed with such a wonderful and happy marriage! Blessings to you and your family for years to come!
ReplyDeleteIt is a great gift to be with your true soul mate and to have a marriage that is blessed and whole. You are lucky to have such a wonderful man in your life.
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome list. It is so important to share those feelings with each other. It is too easy to take our spouses for granted. It sounds like you have an amazing husband, Kim.
ReplyDeleteKim -- I discovered your blog a couple of weeks before you got Kate, which was perfect timing, and I have been addicted ever since! I have a biological son, Carson (age 4), and a biological daughter, Kamree (age 1), who was born right after Kate. I feel like I can relate to alot of your posts since Kamree is doing essentially the same things as Kate, except for walking. I also have a great husband who is hands on with our kids and does all of the cooking. Parenting is so much more fun with a fun, loving partner. We are both blessed with great husbands!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I love all of Kate's hair accessories. Kate and Kamree have alot of the same bows. I knew Dave was a great Daddy when he made sure Kate had her hair accessories every day while in China. That was the cutest!
Wow! What an incredible man! And his smile is so warm...blessed you are, indeed!
ReplyDeleteKim, your family is so beautiful. I see you and Dave in all three of your wonderful children. I think the world of your whole family and I love that you are so happy together. What a special list to be thankful for. Dave.... you are one of the Good Guys!
ReplyDeleteGod bless you
Love,
Daleea
Oh Kim, what a beautiful post and tribute to your sweetie! How blessed you are to have such a thoughtful and caring husband and father who does so much. Although I would guess that he is the one who feels blessed.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, he is handsome. :D
Kim that is a precious post! My husband Jeff asked me last night "what did I write about him this week" because he knows I do often write about him!
ReplyDeleteA good husband is a true blessing from God! I feel blessed to the max!!!
I enjoyed reading you post!
God bless you!
What a lovely post. Not only is it awesome that he helps you but it sounds like he adores you! What a great guy. Handsome too...
ReplyDeleteWe might have the same husband! Tripp does lots of the cooking and last year he went on a 4 day duck hunt and I realized just how much he does with the girls! I am not sure what I would do withtout him!
ReplyDeleteThanks for reminding me to not take for granted what I have!
Julie
Definitely a beautiful thankful list! Rejoicing with you!
