These days when I cannot find Kate Emerson for a second it means one or two things. Either she is hanging out in Scout's bed OR she has found Will and Harry's Pokemon cards. She loves them! She sits and looks at them and talks to them and points at them. It cracks me up. The pictures above are from a week ago...I was unloading the dishwasher and Kate was being a little too quiet. When I went in the other room, she was surrounded by Pokemon cards!
I want to thank all of you who introduced yourselves. I was incredibly surprised and touched by the kind things that you all wrote. I especially want to thank Belen who left me a sweet comment in her "best English." It was great! Your comment actually made me teary eyed (several did). I guess I just thought my Mom (HI MOM!) and a few of my friends were hitting refresh a lot. I feel honored that you all want to follow our family's journey.
My husband wanted me to make sure I told you all that we do argue sometimes and our kids aren't sweet all the time. We are a normal family with ups and downs. Luckily, we do have more ups than downs but I guess it is all perspective.
What fun pictures...Does this hobby drive her big brothers CRAZY???

ReplyDeleteLove the photos of Kate. Shelby used to love pokemon cards when she was younger. I had no idea they were still "cool". The youngest person in my family is a 15 year old girl, so I guess that's why.
Thanks for the email today. He keeps asking if we should go. I, like you, am not a bright lights gambling kind of girl, but it could be fun.

ReplyDeleteThe slide show of Kate is too cute! She is just so sweet! LiLi would play with Ian's cards and when she was that age it was "OK", but just recently he has decided he doesn't want her touching his stuff. I picked up LiLi some Eric Carle Domino cards, OMG ~ she loves them!

Oh this is a familiar sight at our house too, although ours are baseball cards and the gameboy. How is the sleep coming? I hope much better than last week! Such cute pictures, I can just hear her squealing!

Oh my goodnes, I was thrilled to see your name on my caller id! It was wonderful to finally hear your voice! Meeting such special people through our adoption has been an added bonus that we weren't expecting. Would mind sharing where you got Kate's hair bows? I don't have any for my Raegan yet and would love to get some like yours! I bought some ribbon and a glue gun...I am intimidated by the thought of making them so buying would be a better option!!!
