Kate Emerson's Baptism & First Birthday Video

Thursday, September 27, 2007

Here is the second "practice" movie. I was trying to insert the video of everyone singing happy birthday and Kate eating her cake but the quality was poor so I deleted it. I may update it later if I can get the video quality better.

Since it is Thursday, I will also write what I am thankful for.

*I am thankful to everyone who has supported us and prayed for us during this whole adoption process. It has been wonderful and stressful and we are still adjusting.

*I am thankful for MOPS (mothers of preschoolers). Joining this wonderful group of women has been a huge blessing for me. Thank you Pip--if you are reading this:)

*I am thankful to Leslie of Myah's Days for sending Kate the cutest clippie I have ever seen and I am thankful for her friendship.

*I am thankful for the couple of close friends who have let me cry on their shoulders as we struggle through this adjustment period. You know who you are.

  1. Very CUTE video!! I love it! You have done such a wonderful job on your videos!!..and thank you for the very sweet comments on my blog about my new look. I really thought I was going to pull my hair out in frustration trying to get it done. I would be more than happy to help teach you anything. I definitely could not have done it without Danielle or Melissa from Laugh often, Love much. It was no easy task! :)

  2. Great video Kim.

I have been working on videos this week too. It is fun and frustrating. I forgot to save 2 hours of work and my husband had to shut off our power for a minute-all my hard work lost and a wasted Lily nap time:( Oh well!

I am joining MOPs too. I did it when Jack was little and will start again next week. It is a great outlet!

    Have a terrific weekend!

  4. Kate looked adorable on her special day and her birthday cake was beautiful! Your family will enjoy this video for years to come. I had birthday videos made for both of my kids this year and we watch them almost monthly. They bring back so many great memories since they grow up so fast.

  15. Thank you so much for your comment tonight. Please pray for us. We don't know what to do. Truly there is nothing we can do, God with either open the doors or steer us in another direction. We are comfortable either way. We trust Him.

  20. Dear Anonymous,

I found this dress at Strasburg. They have stores (and outlets) all over the country and they have a catlog and website and will ship anywhere. They may seem pricey at first glance but the quality is amazing. Kate's dress was shantung slik with seed pearls sewn at the neckline. It was so well made. I highly recommend them. This particular dress ran small (hers was 24 months). But in general they are generously sized.
Let me know if you find something you like there:)

  24. I am sorry for all the clothes questions, but would you mind sharing where you got Kate's birthday dress? I love pink, and I love smocking, it's perfect!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Anonymous,

The birthday dress is very special because the smocking is actually ladybugs with cupcakes on their backs and there is one candle in the cupcakes. It seemed absolutely perfect for a 1st birthday for an adopted baby from China. I actually found it on e-bay! The brand is Silly Goose and it is hand smocked.

  26. Kim,

This is just beautiful and I love your choice of music. I love Natalie Merchant!!! To me, if something like this brings tears to my eyes that means JOB WELL DONE, and this certainly did.

I would love to get together if an when we are on the east coast (we do travel quite a bit). You have to promise to do the same if you are ever in the Midwest!!!

I cannot even fathom starting Z's "movie", yet, I do not know how you find time!

    XOXO,
    Stacie
