An Award and a Meme

Thursday, August 30, 2007
Daleea (who is SO nice) passed this nice matters blogging award on to me. I thanked her right away but I did not post about it because I get kind of embarrassed. I feel awkward posting it but do not want to be rude. Does that make sense? This is my scrapbook of sorts. I never knew it would touch anyone else in any way. This award is for those who are nice people, good blog friends and inspiring in the blogging world. I would like to nominate Diana, Lori, Danielle, Heather, Lisa , Leslie and Shana. These women have all been really helpful and supportive and kind to me at one time or another and I am grateful. There are many others I would name but I know they have already been nominated. Those of you I nominated can copy and post the award and you are allowed to nominate seven people. But if you are like me and get embarrassed you can graciously and quietly accept the compliment and you don't need to do anything else.

I have been tagged by Debbie for the middle name meme.

Here are the rules:
1) You must list one fact that is somehow relevant to your life for each letter of your middle name.
2) When you are tagged you need to write your own blog post containing your own middle name game facts.
3) At the end of your blog post, you (need to) or (may) choose one person for each letter of your middle name to tag. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.

S- Sense of style. I like to think that I have a sense of style in regards to home and clothes but maybe I am deluding myself. I do however enjoy shopping and decorating.

U-Uncoordinated. I was always the last one picked at group sports as a kid. I have lousy hand-eye coordination. I can ski, ice skate and am very flexible in pilates and gymnastics but I stink at sports.

E-Exceptionally organized. That is what I used to be until an adorable little baby girl came home this summer. I am getting my organizational groove back but it was GONE this summer! I would love to write "energetic" here but not feeling that these days.

Oh, and I despise my middle name so this was hard to do.

It seems as though everyone has already done this one, but feel free to do it if you have not been tagged. I'm really not good at the memes or the award thing. Leave a comment so I can go read yours:)

  3. Very sweet, Kim. Thanks so much; and yes, I do get embarrassed about things like this. I don't even take compliments well - I shuffle right past them when the appropriate thing to do would be to say, "Thank you". SO, thank you so much - I may post something on my blog (time is not on my side these days:-)when we return from a few days away.

    Love,
    Heather

  4. I am the SAME way when it comes to Blog Awards...I don't even post them...it feels way too weird. (I never liked 'em in highschool either)

Anyhoo, you are a very nice gal and I'm happy to have found you. I laughed at your middle name meme -- you would LIKE to say you are energetic...wouldn't we all!?

  5. Back in my sorority days, if we would use the word "nice" to describe someone after a rush party it was not a huge compliment. But, being tagged for a nice award from you Kim, is a HUGE compliment. Thank you for thinking of me.. You know I think the world of you! Thanks for making my day! And, thanks for being a great friend!
    Hugs,
    Diana

  6. I understand as well, I totally started the blog as a scrapbook journal and never knew it would bring the added blessing of friends. I didn't even know what a comment was at first! :)

  9. Kim - I'll get to my post but wanted to thank you again.

I just had to say it's so funny that you can ski and ice skate. I used to ice skate (even did a competition - just 1) and have only gone skiing once but loved it and did really well. Not great with yoga. Need more muscle tone. I think I'm going to start going to classes again.

  10. Hi, I am so glad you visited and commented on my blog. Thanks so much. I started my blog as a scrapbook journal as well. I have met so many neat and wonderful Christian ladies through blogging. I understand about the blogging awards. I have won a few awards and felt very awkward posting them too.
Love our blog and your family is just precious!!!

  13. Congratulations on your award...be proud!

You have a great blog. I have had no time to blog, but love reading yours. We have too much going on. I was sort of a single mom all summer at our vacation place and my brother is very ill, so I've been busy and pretty distracted (and Emma still doesn't sleep very well so the sleep deprivation lingers). I'm hoping I'll be able to get back at it.

    Have a great weekend.

    Wendy

I have the same middle name and have never like it either ;^).

  14. Kim~

First, congratulations on the Nice Award. I am not at all surprised. Your sweet personality shines through post after post. Whether it is the love of your family, the "simple" things in life, or compassion for others it really shows...

I was so surprised to see you had given me the award. Thank you so much. It means a lot. I really feel like there are so many wonderful blogs out there and worry that mine are boring or shallow. I am encouraged by your comments. I am not good with accepting compliments but sincerely appreciate you including me among such a great group of ladies!

    Hugs,
    Lisa
