Yeah! All of October is finally matched!

Tuesday, May 1, 2007
Today, I put a little ponytail on top of Kate's head. I have been dying to do this but her hair is too thin. My friend, Colleen gave Kate this adorable Hannah Anderson dress. Thanks Colleen!
Still pretty cute for having a 102 fever and double ear infection!

She tried like heck to get that thing out but she did not succeed!

Today is an awesome day! For months and months and months..I have been a member of an on-line adoption community. I participate in two groups of people waiting to adopt from China. Although it may sound strange, I have become friends with these women who were logged into China the same month as us (October, 2005). Even though Kate has been home for almost a month, many of these families were still waiting for their referrals. Well, the CCAA has finally matched through November 1, 2005. While I still feel bad for everyone who is still waiting, I am so thrilled for all of my buddies who have walked this journey and held my hand along the way. It is their turn to feel the immense joy that Kate Emerson has brought us. Snickerdoodle (link to the lower right) is one of my buddies who will get her referral in this batch!

On another note, Kate has a double ear infection. She cried her little heart out all night (and I do mean all night) last night. I feel so bad for her. She is feeling better already though. I was kind of embarrassed to take her to the pediatrician. She will be home a month on Thursday and this was her 5th visit to this pediatrician (ear infection, re-check, well visit, pink eye, and double ear infection). She has also had one visit to the holistic pediatrician to discuss her lead levels and anemia. He did assure me that many others have us beat!

  1. Kate,

You look so beautiful, especially for a girl with a double ear infection! I never would have guessed you were sick. Get well soon! Hopefully you'll sleep through the night so your mom can get some rest.

Your hair looks very pretty! Hope you're feeling better tomorrow.

  2. I will keep Kate in my prayers for her recovery... Don't feel embarrased about going to the pediatrician. In the past month and a half, I have been to the pediatrician over 7 times with my 3 boys. They are better now, but it came down to colds, pink eye, strep throat, skin allergy and a very bad virus that got all three.

  3. Poor baby! She is still beautiful

We can relate on the doctor trips and don't worry about feeing embarrased. I guess that I am one of those parents who might have you out numbered. I am on a first name bases with the nurse at one of LiLi's doctors, and she is now adopting from China - LID April 5, 2007! Would have never happened if we haden't made all those trips - so think positive :-)

Off topic - I was going to take a break but that darn collage turned out so cute - how could I not post it? I may post one more since I am stuck home doing laundry before our trip :D

  6. For her to feel so lousy, she certainly takes a beautiful photo!

I smile every time I look at her.

I love Hannah Anderson, the clothing is so soft.

  7. Poor Kate! I hope she feels better soon, and that she sleeps better so you can get some rest. That is just miserable.

She looks darling in her Hanna Andersson dress and her cute little ponytail on top of her head! I do that with my daughter too:)

  9. We are always at the doctors office and I am a Nurse Practitioner! It just happens that way! She looks precious to be sick! We were LID 10/31/2003 and saw our month split with referrals as well just not as much as CCAA is currently doing! But you are right - They are like kindered spirits and will always be!
