Weekend at Doon and Moon's House

Tuesday, March 13, 2007
We are very lucky that our adoption agency (while 6 hours away) is about five minutes from my sister's house. So, last weekend we had the opportunity to visit them when we went up for our travel meeting.

Will, our oldest son came up with the names for Aunt Dawn and Uncle Joey when he was quite little. He simply started calling my sister Aunt Dooney. The irony is that when she was a toddler some of our relatives called her "Dooney" but Will did not know that. In fact, no one had called her that in years.

Uncle Moon got his nickname from Will too. When Will was a baby, Dave used to read him "Goodnight Moon" all the time. Instead of reading about the cow jumping over the moon, Dave would substitute, "Uncle Joey jumping over the moon." Eventually Will started calling Uncle Joey "Uncle Moon" instead. Now they are lovingly known as "Moon and Doon." We had so much fun with them this weekend. Little Miss Kate Emerson is going to have to hold her own with these boys. She will be the only girl out of seven grandsons.

Cousin Ashton

Harry decided to pour some water on his cousin.

Rub a dub dub. Two boys in a tub.

You're not fooling anybody.

They had quite the slumber party.

Dooney and Kim outside in the wind (not a good hair day for me).

I love the looks on their faces. Confusion?
