We were laughing and being silly....
Once we got to the theater, we looked at the giant tree and gingerbread house....
Iphone pics at the theatre.
At intermission, a few mice and toy soldiers came out to meet the children...
Then immediately after the performance, we went to the green room to meet a few of the principals. Kate had them sign her Nutcracker book.
Clara came out first and she was so tiny. I am not kidding. I thought she was around 12 but I asked her how old she was and she said 25! She was so good.
The Sugar Plum Fairy
We had such a nice time.
It truly is a magical day for us and I am so grateful that we get to do this each year.
Kate's dress is from here.
I found the tartan skirt for me on E-bay months ago (for $24!). It is a gorgeous raw silk from England and was completely the wrong size. It was long and too small. My genius seamstress remade it and I LOVE it. I would have loved it long too but it was not long enough.
You girls are absolutely gorgeous!

ReplyDeleteKim, both you and Kate look absolutely beautiful! So glad you enjoyed your special time. Ruby and I had tickets for the Nutcracker on Friday night, but we had the ice storm and the ballet was canceled. So sadly we will not be able to see it this year. I also got Ruby the James Avery Nutcracker Charm as a special treat. Hope you all have a wonderful holiday season!

Love the dress...and the skirt :) Can you believe, I have never seen the nutcracker? When the girls are old enough to pay attention, I will have to bring them :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Jen. And I can believe it. I had only seen it once or twice before I started brining Kate. And I don't think most kids enjoy it like Kate does. It is unusual how much she loves it. It is kind of long. But I bet your girls will like it!
DeleteI absolutely love the beautiful relationship you seem to have with Miss Kate and think this tradition is one of my very favorites that you post about each year. The Nutcracker seems SO magical and I love that you have the sweet memories with your little one! xo!
ReplyDeletei remember that you do this every year. you are both beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLove it! I'm taking my 4 year old to see the nutcracker for the first time this weekend. I hope she loves it and we can make a tradition out of it :)
ReplyDeleteOur family is heading to the Houston Nutcracker Tuesday and we can't wait. It will be my sweet Mia's first time and my boys. :) Merry Christmas!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou honestly look 25! WOW!! Such awesome memories you are making with your girl! I look forward to a few years from now to start building those traditions as well!
ReplyDeleteMy, goodness, you both look BEAUTIFUL! I love that Kate truly seems to enjoy it...that always makes it extra special for us Mama's. I'm hoping to take Kerry next year, she'll be 6 and more ready for it, I think.
ReplyDeleteGin =)
Beautiful! The both of you! How fun to be able to get signatues from the dancers. Can't wait to go to the Nutcracker with my girls.
ReplyDeleteStunning!
ReplyDeleteOh these pictures are just beyond gorgeous of you both and her hair like that makes her look like a princess! I so miss the days of doing this with my daughter- she is a freshman at college now. Hang on to every second! :)

ReplyDeleteI was loving both of your outfits so much! You both look great. The nutcracker is a tradition in our family too and i just adore it, as my Mom took me every year too!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures!
ReplyDeleteKim, I saw your post on MCW's blog today, and I thought you should know that the mug everyone is talking about is by Ashley Brooke Designs. You can see it here: http://shop.ashleybrookedesigns.com/10-mug-gift-set.html. It's on the far right side. Why anyone would buy something like this is beyond me. I pray that I can raise my boys to be better, love harder, and be kinder than this stupid coffee mug. Your boys amaze me and I definitely use them as proper examples!!!
ReplyDeleteTwo very beautiful ladies! Merry Christmas to you and your family, Kim. (Please share what makeup foundation you use - TY)
ReplyDeleteAngie---- I use Clinique Repairwear Laser focus in Shade 02:) I don't wear it daily but I do have it on in these photos.
DeleteTwo very pretty ladies! Merry Christmas to you and your family, Kim.
ReplyDeleteThank you Angie. Merry Christmas!!!!
