I will be bringing my computer to recharge the flip and empty my memory cards so I might post while we are gone but I might be too busy having fun as well.
Remember my search for the most comfortable walking sandals ? Well, let me just tell you that I became a little obsessed with finding cute yet comfortable walking shoes for Disney. I have an issue here because for several years the doctors thought I had MS and I had A LOT of trouble walking. A tiny part of me is afraid that I will have trouble again on trips like this.....SO anyway, I scoured the internet and every store I could find. I spent an incredible amount of time looking for the perfect sandal. I quickly abandoned hopes for anything "Cute" and settled on really comfortable. Becasue really, none of the cute sandals feel good walking around for 10+ hours a day. You would be shocked to know how many pairs of sandals I ordered (and returned) from Zappos. I am kind of embarrassed to tell you. They are so nice there and they understood my small size, very high arched, fickle feet. I do love Zappos.
I finally settled (after so many tries) on these Ecco sandals. They are ugly, I know. But they feel like heaven and give my high arches great support.
In fact, we fell so in love with Ecco's that Will got a pair....
Harry got a pair and Kate got a pair of darling sandals too! And we found theirs at the Ecco outlet!
I also promised to show you what I bought at Roundtop and never did....
I bought this great old bread board. It was too big to fit on my counter (under the cabinets) so I put it here.
Then, I bought this sign...
It is a departure from my normal style but I thought my kitchen needed more whimsy. The wood is old but I think the letters are new. It is fun and adds some color to our kitchen!
And finally I bought this giant dough bowl. I LOVE it! I plant to fill it seasonally with beautiful things.

ReplyDeleteYour home is so beautiful Kim.
ReplyDeleteI just bought a bunch of bread old bread boards. I actually give them to my clients. They work really well as trays on ottomans or for serving at parties.
Your bread board adds a nice warmth to your already gorgeous kitchen.

I love all of your finds! I hope your sandals provide you the comfort you are needing while at Disney. I think they are sporty looking. I wouldn't mind a pair myself. I really like the items you bought. The dough bowl is my FAV! I love them. We have two that we use to hold our seasonal goodies and I love the rustic feel they give. Hope you have a great vacation!!!
ReplyDeleteComfort outweighs cute on a trip like this, believe me! We did Disney with our 3 back in February, and you won't make it without the right shoes. Also, please know that in the (I pray, unlikely) event of a flare up where you are having pain and difficulty walking, the parks DO have scooter chairs you can rent daily. The concierge at your resort can help you reserve them, but this time of year it shouldn't be an issue. My father needed one, as he's got knee problems and the amount of walking we were doing was just more than the knee could tolerate. Once he got over the idea of using it, he had so much more fun. So don't be stubborn if you need it!
ReplyDeleteI, too, love Zappos. I'm a VIP member, and they just have the best service ever.
HAVE FUN!!!
Fun to get an update from you! What about the birks??? Did you try them? I am sure you will be happy with the eccos. Have a fabulous trip! xoxo
ReplyDeleteLooks great! I love my bread bowl. I wish I had more than one. Have a fantastic time at Disney!
ReplyDeleteLove your finds! I have an old dough bowl that I do the same thing with and it is one of my fav pieces.

Happy Vacation! Hope you'll post a few photos at least ;_
ReplyDeleteAnd another cheer for Zappos here!
I think I love your decorating/ house photos best of all :) Your kitchen is gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteWow! What a gorgeous KITCHEN you have! I am trying not to covet! It is beautiful! You found some great finds! Enjoy them!
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love your kitchen! And the EAT sign is great. Now you need PRAY and LOVE! Maybe I'LL do that! Of course my pray and love will be a little different than Julia Roberts!!!
ReplyDeleteLove all of your finds! Wish I could have been there to pick up a few things.Especially love the big bread board! Glad you found some comfy sandals. I have made the mistake of cute over comfort way too many times and end up spending multiple trips to the drugstore buying band aids for my aching, blistered feet! Hope you guys have a great time at Disney!!
ReplyDeleteYou know how much I love photos of your home! Gorgeous Kim, you have made it all your own! Love the new pieces, I have wanted a dough bowl for ages, someday.....
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous time at Disney!!! It is our most favorite place on Earth!!!! I am so jealous!!!! I cry everytime I leave, (seriously!), can't wait to see your photos, Sheri is there right now too!
By the way... I worry about comfortable shoes too, I have problem feet, I totally "get" your obsession! It is a major concern especially when you are going to be at Disney, walking all day! Good choice!
ReplyDeleteII love ECCO shoes for comfort! I have a pair of Ecco boots that I wear all the time, and they actually LOOK good and are super comfortable. My Father in Law has shoe store in NZ, and he sells A LOT of Eccos.
ReplyDeleteThe sign looks perfect in your beautiful kitchen!
I. want. your. KITCHEN! It is stunning!
ReplyDeleteHave a great time in Disney and be sure to take lots of pictures for us!
Wow your kitchen is something out of a magazine! Beautiful. I am always in wonderment over someone that can keep their house sparkling, ours is a bit dingy (ok a LOT dingy) most of the time.
ReplyDeleteYou are going to have SUCH a great time at Disney! So glad you found some comfortable shoes. Nothing worse than sore feet when you have a lot of walking to do.
ReplyDeleteLove your Roundtop finds, especially the EAT sign and the dough bowl.
Bon voyage! Travel safely and take lots of pictures!
Have fun on your trip and I Love your kitchen!!!

ReplyDeleteI'm in love with your kitchen. I cannot wait until we redo ours. There is something wrong with cooking in someone else's kitchen!
ReplyDeleteLove the items you bought too. The sign is perfect!
Hi,
ReplyDeletemy name is Ariane and I live in Montrel, Quebec, Canada. I Have been a reader of your blog from the last few months. I really enjoy reading you, you have such a beautiful family. I also really like your tastes in decoration. I'm right now working with my grandmother to redo her kitchen that is beige and boring. We are looking for inspiration and I showed her your kitchen. She loved it. Since we are working on a little document with things she likes to show the specialist who are going to work on her kitchen, I wanted to ask your permission before using your photo and I was wondering if you could send it to me since we can not copy photos from your blog (for reasons that i completely understand).
Here is my e-mail address:
