One early morning, we went strawberry picking....
Strawberry kisses!
Dave made a pie with the fresh strawberries and some blueberries. He also made an incredible strawberry "relish" for our pork chops. Yummy!
Ainsley and I became fast friends. Here we share a fizzy lemonade!
The girls played in and on the rocks!
Di took me for a spin on the jet ski. It was so much fun!
Jeff (and Dave) looked after the kids for a while.
We were invited to a lake friend's house for some fun and games but Miss Kate was not budging. I kept telling her it was time to go to the party. She flopped down like this on the trampoline and said, "no party."
At the party, we played old fashioned games like three legged races. Dave and Will came in first.
My partner and I came in last (and I have the purple toes to prove it).
We played "pass the lime" and everyone won:)
Ruby whacks the pinata!
We laughed!
And life long friendships were made.
Thank you again Di and Jeff, Ruby, Ainsley, Piper and Caymus.
What gorgeous photos - especially love the one of you and Dave - so glad you all had such a great time! And glad your blog is back! Wendy

Kim,
ReplyDeleteA luker here that just had to say how happy I am that you're back. Your blog is a little light in my day and inspires me to be a better Mom, Wife and Friend. Thank you for sharing your beautiful life and precious kids. I missed it desperately while you were gone!!!
Good luck with the move, I know how heartbreaking it is to say goodbye to people/places you love. My grandmother used to say, "This or something better, Lord." I'm sure something even better awaits.
Kathy

Okay...apparently I have been living under a rock...(maybe Ruby and Kate could find me, pebble puppies that they are!), but I didn't realize you were back up and running. I am so glad. I love the pictures...and I feel your pain at moving from your home. A year into marriage I had (chose, I guess) to leave my beautiful victorian dream home and move a distance away from everything I knew. It was tough...and I know you are a seasoned mover...but still a hard thing. Your memories and photographs will be your precious gems...and will never go away!
ReplyDeleteI wih you peace...and lots of energy with all that you have to do!!
Kate
I don't even know where to start. These photos are beautiful! It looks like the perfect all-American summer vacation. I LOVE the pictures of you and Dave and the one of Harry and Airsley. Just adorable!!
ReplyDeleteOh Kim....what beautiful, natural and exceptional photos....
ReplyDeleteI love all of them...but the last one has something special....I don't Know why but for me it summarizes how you felt those days.
A very big kiss,
Belén.
I was so happy to see you opened up your blog again. It looks like the most wonderful time was had by all. Those are the memories you and your children will share for a lifetime. Sorry to hear you are moving. I do know how you feel as we have had to move more times than I can count. The area we live in is not to far from you (Manassas) and we like wise love the history of it all. But you will find new things to love in your new town and find out your kids will do great! Good luck and can't wait to hear more about it. I hope you feel well soon!
