They look cute but can they hear?
Wednesday, November 7, 2007
Is it a boy thing or is it just my kids? I am not sure if they don't hear or they just don't listen but they are driving me crazy! Last night, I handed them each a freshly laundered and pressed uniform shirt and said, "Put these out to wear to school tomorrow." When I went into their rooms to say good night, the shirts were nowhere to be seen. BOTH of them had put the clean shirts in the dirty clothes hamper! Now, if I could only get them to put the clothes that are actually dirty in there! UGH!
Thank you for all of your sweet comments, prayers and e-mails. I still do not feel great but slowly I am feeling better. I did not eat a meal for week! I managed some soup and banannas but not much else. My stomach was really bad. I am still waiting on some test results so I would still appreciate some prayers.
I think it is a boy thing, I have a son who suffers from the same problem! Selective hearing is what I call it! Glad you are on the mend, good thing Thanksgiving is on the horizon, we need to "fatten" you up! Ha Ha!
ReplyDeleteI am not sure it is just a boy thing and know the exasperation that can cause.
ReplyDeleteLindy can hear stuff three counties over but when it comes to executing directions---aarrgghh...
You know I'm praying for you!!! Can you tolerate Ensure or Boost?
Take care of yourself!
Love,
Lisa
Boys will be boys!
ReplyDeleteI hope your feeling better soon!
I will continue to keep you in my prayers. I had some issues after my first trip to Guatmeala so I know a little of what you are going through. ugh. Its so hard to be strong to take care of busy children if you feel bad.
ReplyDeleteThe shirt episode sounds like something Ryan would do. Alot of times for Jacob I will say look at my eyes and pay attention when telling him to do something like this so he doesn't mess up. It is a boy thing I think.
Praying for you...
Connie
First, I love the picture of your handsome lads.... Second, it MUST BE A BOY THING! Nicholas has been driving me nuts too! lol He has an acute case of SELECTIVE HEARING! My patience have been running low.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry you are not feeling better. I will be praying for you. Please keep us posted.
Big Hug
Girls do the same thing. I am just glad to hear that it's not just me. I will be praying for faster healing and helpful test results. We have a saying in our house when things don't go as planned, "It is a good thing your cute!" This applies to hubby as well.:)
ReplyDeleteLaughing. Out. Loud. Oh yeah; I have washed more clean clothes I'd like to admit:=) Get Well Soon!
ReplyDeletewill definately pray for you.
ReplyDeletethanks for giving us the opportunity to support you!!
cutiepie boys even if they don't listen!!
xo
Prayers sent your way...keep us posted.
ReplyDeleteNo...Annslee has selective hearing too : )
They are true BOYS! I had a mountain of laundry yesterday, and some of it was clothes that really wasn't dirty. They just don't want to hang it up -- it's easier to just throw it in the laundry basket! ;) Glad you're feeling a little better. I'll continue to pray for good health.
ReplyDeleteThe jury is still out on my boys, but I don't think they can hear.
ReplyDeleteGlad your feeling better.
Boys need help. You are such a good mom. I was thinking about having a stackable waher dryer installed in my daughter's closet so that she could do her own laundry.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you are feeling a little better.
ReplyDeleteYour boys are soooo handsome even if they cant hear. :)
My son is the same way. I am glad mine is not the only one who doesn't do what is asked.
Boys don't hear and neither do men in my opinion! They have a disease called "selective hearing". If I were to whisper the words "anyone want some ice cream " in one room, Cody would hear it as if I had used a bull horn to announce it. However, if I had said loud and clear "do your homework", I would have gotten a "huh? I never heard you tell me to do that."
ReplyDeleteStill praying for you to feel better!
Kim
Yes, it is a boy thing. I actually had my oldest son's hearing re checked at one point and they said it was fine...just that selective male hearing gene! As far as the laundry goes, half of what is dirty, they put back in their drawers and half of what is in the hamper is clean...I just chuckle and pray their wives can tolerate it one day!
ReplyDeleteA friend has suggested that I let them start doing their own clothes...I am not sure that I am ready to give up control in that area!!
I love this picture! Your boys are so handsome! I do believe boys, or men in general, have selective hearing or at least they do at my house!
ReplyDeleteHi Kimber! You brighten many of my days and I would be honored to continue praying for you! Hope you are better soon! Your boys are so handsome!
ReplyDeleteOh my word! My boys do the same thing. It drives me nuts to find clean folded laundry in their hampers. They sure are cute though.
ReplyDeleteI think all children have selective hearing. :)
ReplyDeleteWill be praying you feel better soon and find out what's causing this.
Kim,
ReplyDeleteYou know I'm praying. I am glad you posted an update. I am sure everyone has been very worried.
You also know how wonderful I think your boys are. Maybe they misunderstood? Not really sure what they were thinking there.
At least they don't steal your mouse and close your computer like some other cute little peanut we all know and love. ;)
So glad you're feeling better. I will talk to you soon. Got the TB's today, so I'll let you know how they work out.
Love,
Danielle
Hope you are feeling better soon....will keep you in my prayers!~
ReplyDeleteCute picture and funny story! Hope you are feeling better soon.
ReplyDeleteTotally a boy thing! Too funny!! I will be praying for you.
ReplyDeleteMy girls have that same selective hearing trait! Especially when it comes to laundry!
ReplyDeleteI agree with lizziefitz...good thing they're cute. :)
ReplyDeletePray I will! I hope you feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteKim, I am praying that you are feeling better very soon. I am so worried that you aren't eating, though. Please update us as soon as you get your results...
ReplyDeleteBig Hugs,
Shana
p.s. Could your boys be more handsome?
