Bachelorette look alike?

Wednesday, November 21, 2007

Okay, I was surprised by how many of you also watch the Bachelor. People are always surprised that sometimes I stoop to watching such bad TV. I do read a lot and I do have a Ph.D. but I enjoy junk television just as much as they next gal. After watching last night....my professional (marriage and family specialist) and personal opinion is that he has a deep fear of commitment. I do believe he loved them both but he has doubts about himself. I think he needs a Texas sized kick in the behind to get over himself!

During the Charlie O'Connell season of the Bachelor people used to stop me all the time and ask me if I was that girl from the Bachelor. Even relatives thought I looked like her. I must say I was very flattered because she is MUCH younger than me and he ended up choosing her! I think the resemblance really comes from the fact that we both have no chins and a bump in our nose (we look more alike from the profile).

I think they recently split but my 15 seconds of fame came from being asked many times if I was her. Just thought you Bachelor fans might find that amusing:) Now, I am back to my Thanksgiving preparations!

  1. Oh that's too funny! I do see the resemblance. I liked her. My little nephew used to think the girl who does the Quaker Rice Cake commercials was me.

I am with you on the junk TV. Sometimes you just need to turn off your mind and watch something entertaining.

    Happy Thanksgiving.

  2. Very funny! Junk tv is a good start to feeling better about yourself!

    (I'm only 1/2 kidding)

  3. I am so glad you gave your opinion. I was wondering what your thoughts were last night. I don't think he fully addressed why he wouldn't give either one more of a chance. I think he believed too much in the romantic over the top love and when he didn't feel it after six weeks he questioned whether he'd ever feel it...I think he's got some issues for sure!

I don't usually watch reality shows (besides John & Kate) because I get too sucked in and frustrated!!!

    Hope preparations are going well.

    Love,
    Lisa

  5. Kim, your in good company. I have three degrees and I read alot. Yet I love to curl up on the couch and watch brainless t.v. once in a while. :-) Ahhhh ... life is good!

  6. You are a beautiful woman, so I'm not surprised at all that you were mistaken for her. I don't watch the Bachelor, but I have many friends who are glued right in. Happy Thanksgiving to you all!

  8. How fun! You do resemble each other! So pretty!

I get different comments to as who people think I look like, I always find it amusing!

I'm a mindless tv junkie myself. About the recap...Gosh, poor Deanna was hoping he had made a mistake, I felt bad for her. Jenni seemed sad but over him for the most part. The tribute to her grandma was sweet. Oh well, at least Trista & Ryan seem happy and that other couple is getting married so it does work, sometimes.

    Happy Thanksgiving!

  9. I watched last night out of a morbid sense of curiosity (I only watch the last episode of Bachelor)...I thought this bachelor was stiff and dumb as a rock...

The cynic in me thinks the whole thing was scripted; the second woman was way out of his league (too articulate and too beautiful).

Okay, that's enough unsolicited commentary from me.

    Happy Thanksgiving.

  10. I also meant to tell you I think you're prettier and I bet she won't be as hot as you are at 40.

    Back to the kitchen...

  12. You're so cute! At last someone to share my sadness with..... I was devastated! I really liked Deanna and I thought he loved her. It broke my heart for her. I was stunned. Last night I was hoping he had come to his sences and they would be together.... Ok, I know, I need help. lol At least I don't watch soaps too. hehee
    Thanks for listening friend.
I do see a resemblance but you darling are prettier!
    Happy Thanksgiving

  13. Just the 6 of us and others,

You are all very sweet but maybe a little deluded. I am neither taller (5'3") nor prettier that Sarah Brice. But y'all made my night;)

  14. Love junk TV! I don't get the chance to watch much anymore, but I did get attached to this season of the Bachelor - poor guy has some serious committment issues, but I have to give him credit for being honest and not moving forward if it didn't feel right.

You and Sarah do resemble one another, but girl, you carry that touch of class so much more elegantly than she...

Have a happy day tomorrow and blessings to your family.
    Love,
    Heather

  15. Hi!
Happy Thanksgiving!!!! We made it to KY fine last night. Ruby does not have whooping cough, but she really isin't feeling well. Bless her heart. She just smiles through it! I am in charge of the turkey. Waiting for Jeff to return with a few things so I can get that rolling! Just wanted to remind you I am thankful for our friendship today!
Happy Turkey Day to the Swales Family!!!! Kate - Ruby says "hi!"
    Love,
    Diana

  16. I definitely see a resemblance. I do not watch the bachelor. I have enough TV shows. But I am not one to judge so I say enjoy.

Thank Dave again for me. I made two pies with Ali and Jess this morning and they are ADORABLE. We had one minor mishap when the dough was a bit crumbly - but I was not about to call on Thanksgiving. I can't believe we made pies from scratch!!

Have a very happy Thanksgiving. Say hi to everyone for me.

    Love,

    Danielle

  17. How flattering indeed. I can't imagine someone exclaiming that I looked like some TV personality. Perhaps some people stop her from time to time and ask if they are you! After all with a PhD you are likely to have some kind of fan base ;)

  18. Hey Kim! I was wondering where you got Kate's Christmas dress. It looks like a Strasburg to me, but I didn't see it in the store. I know you don't like the "where did you get..." questions, but you have such great taste! :-)

    BTW - Happy (late) Thanksgiving!

  19. Kimber, I am sorry for another "where did you get..." question, but where did you purchase Kate's monogrammed pink dress? (The one you recently posted where you showed "then" and "now") I love that style...

  20. Kim, that's so funny that people would ask you that! You do look alike but I don't know what you're talking about "no chin, nose bump"?!
    You're both beautiful! :)
